chest chest chest. and traps. can’t really see your tris but i’m guessing those too.

and a tan.

Well, the back detail and shoulders look solid, and there’s definitely some muscle there. Curious as to your stats, height, weight etc. BEcause every buddy of mine who has competed (naturally, which Im assuming you are as well) lost some muscle while dieting, and to be honest, unless you’re planning on going into a lightweight category (which I dont even know what the actual weight would be for that), you don’t look like you have much muscle you can afford to lose.

You have built a good physique though, people who actually compete would be better suited to give you specific suggestions than I am, but I remember my first show I ever attended. The guy who won at 170 lbs dieted down from 195, and that always stuck with me.

I’d say chest and lat width.

Hey mr choke I wish you all the luck in the world. I did my first show in march 07. I took 3rd at middle weight. 174 on stage, down from 230 bolk. the last 10 lbs was water and i took that of in 2 days, i thought i was guna die! but it was all worth it in the end.

There are a few thing your guna need.

1, suround yourself with support. for 4 month i cut all ties with any bear drinkin, happy hour eating fat asses. comlpeat dedication to your diet and cardio! As sure as the weights you lift are heavy, you can beat your ass that everyone who sees you on stage will know just how dedicated wou were or were not.

For an extra push I had about 30 friends and family come to my show and that helped me get out of bed at 4am to do my cardio and that exrta 2-4 reps when i thought i had nothing left.

2, wour guna need to cut 2 weeks befor your show, hidrate, then gut again. That fat on your oblequ section won go with one cut if this is your first sub 5% bf. That is my plan for my next show.

3, legs, legs, legs. if you wana place, know that most beginers dont show up with any legs, and you can make them look bad with a domanate lower half.

Train like an warrior, ear like an animal, and run like a fuckin nigerian on carck!!! Good luck bro.

um…what show are you gonna be on? Fear Factor?

Your post would be more helpful if you can use spell check before you post it.

Love the toilet paper by the computer -lol

If you’re actually about to compete in a bodybuilding contest, then propers to you for your courage and enthusiasm. I, however, believe you’re jumping the gun and need more mass, better symmetry, and your V-taper needs a lot of work.

Maybe I’ll eat my words after you post a dieted-down pic with a tan, but I doubt it. Good luck.

Good luck and learn all you can at your show. . .

One thing is color, so tan with the sun or tanning bed to get a good base. If you only use tanning oil at the show you may end up looking orange or worse like Branch Warren

(fan of the Branch man but his color sucks)

PS:
Spelled checked for you protection. . .

MMMMAAAAAAA!!! MMMAAAAAAAAAA!! BAFRRROOOM!!! BAFROOOOOMMM!!!

Okay, I just checked your profile stats, and accordingly, you’re 5’11, 205 lbs, and (lol) 12% bodyfat (which I will say with out any malice whatsoever, is an insanely generous figure looking at your pics).

That means that if you wanted to come into a show at 5% bodyfat, then you would ideally weigh (assuming you didnt lose ANY muscle) about 180lbs at 5’11. Now let’s say you lose a little muscle and end up closer to 175, maybe 170lbs… well, I’m only 5’9, and on my first time cutting up thought that 170 sounded like a nice number (And I had less muscle back then than I do now). To cut right to the chase, I looked like total f*cking crap. I don’t think you can come in less than 190lbs for your height, and even if you dont lose any muscle, you’re gonna get a rude slap in the face when you look at the other competitors.

LIsten to the guys who routinely do shows. Not trying to be bastards or anything, but an earlier post had it right, you may just be jumping the gun.

I am so thankful for all of your posts guys. Every one of them were fun to read. And yeah I agree it’s funny about the toilet paper on the desk. I don’t even hide that when girls come over. They know how it is.

And yes, I am predisposed to hold more bodyfat around my lower waist/side area. I just recently measured my height… seems I’ve shrunk? Haha, I am 5"9… which is weird. Heavy squats perhaps?

Currently weighing 185 at the moment. I’ve dieted down for 2 months now from 205. I’ve lost 20 lbs, and I am currently at 9.5% bf. I’ll post some pics this sunday night. The fat on my lower back is almost totally gone, the obliques fat has dwindled away nicely, and my lower abs have come out to play. YEAHYUH!!

A lot of water has left the vicinity as well. I look a LOT different. And I agree with you guys, those pictures look like I don’t have nearly enough muscle. Even my trainer said so when he saw my pics, he said I should do an overall mass bulk. But at the same time he saw me before I started my bulk and know’s I had a good base to start with.

I can honestly say I look maybe 3 times bigger then I do in these pics at the moment, be it the lower bodyfat, or w.e it is. Strength has gone up in the gym, bodyfat has lowered, I’m happy

Thanks for all the support guys, and all the words.

Once more, updates on Sunday night for you all. Maybe even friday night pre and post carb refeed, depends if she is in the mood for pressin a snap button. Haha.

And if I step on stage and am absolutely destroyed, then crap! Atleast I learned somethng, if I step on stage and I absolutely destroy, then hells yeah. Keep the thoughts coming.

Apre spank paper!!!

people do look very different when they really cut- I love the photos of some of the pros off-season. You’d never guess they were bodybuilders. I would definitely go for it- it will be a learning experience one way or another, and once you start competing you will be eternally trying to improve everything anyway. Show us photos as you progress!

dude dont worry about how much u weigh

just get as lean as possible

shows are won on conditioning, symmetry and astethics…if muscle was all that matters ud have 350lb fat asses winning shows, but thats not the case now is it.

good luck, ur first show is jsut a learning experience anyways.

Thanks a lot everybody for the support, and advice.

Well too me these pictures are now officially gross, haha. I look at them now and think, wow talk about high bodyfat. I’m 23 days out from my competition, a lot has changed obviously. Can’t wait to post the comp pictures up for you all. Enjoy, peace.

Let’s see some recent pics then! When I was dieting this summer, I’d take new pics every thursday in the same poses and compare from week to week.
