Hey guys, I need to get faster for football this year. I need to be able to have some agility and be fast. Also, for basketball, it would be nice to dunk it…I am pretty close now but not enough. I donno if I am at the right place but I thought maybe one of you guys had a program for me to use. I was reading that running in the pool will help. So I think I am going to do that on my off days. But, If you know anything about getting faster and such, can you help me out? Thanks alot!
I don’t know how well running in a pool is going to work for getting you faster, if at all, that’s usually reserved for somebody that is taking a break from impact, from severe shin splits or stress factures. I’m sure running a pool might be a good alternative, but how about running on a track?
To get better at anything, the best way is to practice it. Have you timed yourself in a 40 yard dash? You sound like a beginner, correct me if im wrong, but heading to the track, doing some short sprints and agility drills 2-3 times a week, should get you on your way.
Use the search function, there’s tons of stuff out there for getting faster. There are a million articles on the internet dealing with getting faster and jumping higher.
Hey man, thanks for the reply. I looked briefly in the search and didnt find anything that I was looking for. They were all lifting routines. I am looking for a running program to do 2 times a week (Tuesday and Thursday). I didnt find that when I searched. If you find one though, let me know man. I will keep looking but maybe you will get one before I do. Thanks
