Having recently gone through two shoulder surgeries,(one on each shoulder), i have been really pushing it to gain back some of the 40lbs that i lost during and after surgery, things are going pretty well for me, my strength is starting to return along with muscle size and definition, however, being a college athelete, i am in DESPERATE need of SPEED, and that is one thing that is not coming back to me at any rate of satisfaction, to be honest, i never was really that fast to begin with, but i can’t even get back to there as it is, and its been about 4 months since i started a regular workout again, if anybody out there can help me on this i’d really appreciate it, if i can’t change it soon, i might be looking for another way to pay for school, thanks

Do what everyone else does, olympic lifts, deadlifts & rock-bottom squats.
If I understood you right, you´re looking to get faster in the 40 yard dash etc.? If so, go get the book “Sports Speed” by George Dintiman. It covers every aspect of getting faster, from weight training to track work. I´m a track sprinter myself and it helped me gaining speed.
Good luck!
What sport do you play? Depending on the sport you play can infulence the way you should be training.
You didnt mention what sport you played or what kind of speed you want. This makes a difference. A track runner needs different speed than a basketball player. You get the idea here. Find out what kind of speed you want
What type of speed? I home-made an agility ladder recently and those things work awesome. I have some other tips but will need more information.
