Get Non-Meat-Eating Friends to Shut Up?

People keep telling me that animal proteins are bad for you and such

What kinda facts can I lay down

Fact : animal proteins are good for you

Fact: I will kick your ass if you dont shut up.

Say it just like that too. It’ll add emphasis.

You might try specifically asking them why they think animal proteins are bad for you. Ask them for specific diseases or cases of illness caused by animal proteins.

Don’t even bother. I had like 4 MALE friends try telling me high reps on machines builds “tone”.

There are carnivorous animals that do just fine.

they will claim that john wayne had 90 pounds of undigested meat in his bowels when he passed away.or whatever amount it was supposed to be.

ask them what they think people ate 100 years ago when no one had fridges, and it was winter and too cold to grow stuff did they only eat canned pumpkin and pickles?
no they hunted.

another fact my family is from southern california and in the 60s they had a really bad drought and the crops werent growing much and the cows that were to be sold were getting sick and they couldnt sell or eat them.

so my great-grandparents slaughterd 2 of the horses and stocked up on horse meat
meant more money went to the family because there was less horses to feed and also hundreds of pounds of meat lasted a good while. and I am sure that my family isnt the only ones

They’re the ones making the claim. As long as they aren’t stealing your fork or preventing you from bringing that hunk of protein-packed goodness to your mouth then who cares what they “choose to believe”? And I say “choose to believe” because in order to believe something so incredibly stupid you have to make a choice to defy such simple logic.

I think thats the most convincing one

Laugh. Straight up. Laugh.

My mom swears meat causes cancer.

Don’t forget the negative energy:

“Final thought: meat-eaters are also ingesting all of the negative energy that accumulated in the animal during its short, horrific life; all of the fear, anger, hatred, dread, and anxiety that were stored in the cells of the animal. When you eat that “pink” flesh, you take in not only the toxic chemicals, but all that negative energy. It’s not a very pleasant thought.”

Still trying to figure out who’s crazier, the NAAFA porkers or the PETA lovers.

LIFT. SOME. WEIGHT. AND. EAT. A. STEAK.

At least NAAFA understands it’s on top of the food chain. PETA lovers just get downright retarded sometimes.

Haven’t you guys even tought about it for a second ? Honestly, how can a thread evolve without any intelligent comment.

Protein in meat is already made into muscle, you have to break it with your precious enzymes and then take it up again to make it meat. Don’t tell me you didn’t think about that !

Whey protein is superior, grain is superior, eggs, nuts… my own… oops I think I can’t say that… is superior !

Then I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying it’s not really bright, unless like grandpa up there you need money and it’s the intelligent thing to do from what you have.

Next think about it and look at a carnivorous animal intestine, it’s like 5 times shorter, why ? Because meat putrefies in your 24 hours intestine, duh, it’s already got the decomposition enzymes in it activated because it’s DEAD food.

So hear me cashews even tho they taste good are way inferior to live grains because they are DEAD.

Back to the digestive system, carnivorous animals have special enzymes to decompose meat proteins FAST and they secrete alot, ever think why can a dog eat crap and still feel good about it ?

Well there’s the power of our minds too… of I feel some know it all already got me in its crosshairs, I can already feel myself being banned for being intelligent like on the dozen other forums I was on because I won’t shut up, this is ridiculous.

Which animal are we closest digestive-system wise ? Gorilla, what gorilla eats ? Fruits, veggies, nuts and sometimes insects and small fishies… intelligent gorilla !

I’m glad I can’t insult anyone because theres the power of our minds… some people eat crap and feel good about it, some people are sick to their bones even if they watch their shit everyday. Now thats a topic we can’t discuss, lucky yous !

Namase !

That is the second-best response.

The best response is “I’m a hell of a lot bigger and stronger than I used to be when I ate less meat”.

Maybe your meat has growth hormones :S Know your sources…

gorillas look like they are stronger and more packed than any trained athlete I have ever seen… well of course my spiritual 4-d vision is always questionable !

Namase !

We’re comparing humans to gorillas now? C’mon, they don’t even lift weights!

If God didn’t intend us to eat animals, why did he make them so damn tasty ?

I thought about the topic for a second, which is all it warrants since there was no real detraction until you came along.

The same thing happens with plant fibers. The fact that the process destroys the original cells (which aren’t your own) in order to fuel your own is not spectacular or even noteworthy since that is precisely what happens with most any other consumable substance. That it fuels the same type of cells is irrelevant.

Superior until you have a B12 deficiency. And why do we get deficiencies in B12 when we avoid meat? Because we’ve adapted as a species to consuming and utilizing this vitamin. This flies in the face of the “natural foods” advocates’ claim that we were not meant to eat flesh.

As for being superior you don’t mention in what ways.

And look at an omnivore’s intestines, which ours are. We specialize in nothing. Generalization, that has been one key to success in so many climes over so many eons. We can get by with meat. We can get by with veg. That we are not specifically adapted does not indicate that meat is not for us.

If you can explain to me how our bodies are negatively impacted by the advanced breakdown (i.e. cooking) of meats then you may have an argument. You’re simply making a claim here.

You come off as well-intentioned but comments like these taint your post.

But we aren’t Gorillas and despite our close relations there have been adaptations which have happened since our divergence from our common ancestor. Changes that allow them all the microbes and enzymes which afford them their semi-specialization. Odd that they would eat fish occasionally, some of the most B12 rich foods available besides mollusks and other shellfish… Oh no, that makes perfect sense.

I’m sorry, what would make you want to insult someone? Did I miss a post somewhere?

Cheers.

It’s been suggested that we started as scavengers that used tools to eat the precious brains and bone marrow of abandoned carcasses - this allowed our brains to get big enough to collectively hunt animals and overcome our natural disadvantages as predators.

Also, depending on ancestry, some of us produce the enzymes and stomach acids necessary for protein processing much more quickly than others.

I thrive on a meat-containing diet - I’ve tried vegetarianism and it made me radically unhealthy. I ate tons of veggies, as well as whole grains, legumes, tubers, fruits, and a whole heck of a lot of tofu. I only got sicker and sicker until I re-introduced meat into my diet. I readily admit, though, that some people can tolerate vegetarianism much better than I. We are not all identical in this capacity.
