Genuine Bars

I’m looking to buy an Ivanko Bar off craigslist, but I’d rather not end up paying for something I’m going to bend in a year, does anyone know how I can tell an Ivanko bar from a regular POS? Can I look for a different style of bearing, c-clip, or bolt, do they conveniently say Ivanko on them somewhere?

Ivanko bars will have IVANKO + a code for which specific bar it is stamped on the ends. (ex IVANKO OB20KG)

Also, the bars have 3 sets of rings for lining up you’re grip instead of the usual 1 set. If it has only 1 set of rings you don’t want it- it’s a cheaper model not rated for as much weight. So make sure its got 3 rings.

If it has center knurling, then it’s a powerlifting bar. No center knurling is an Olympic lifting bar. OL bars have more whip than PL bars.

If the end cap has come off, they use a c-clip to hold the sleeve on. My gym uses the Ivanko oly bar. If I have any lifting to do there I seek out and use one of the two they have over any other bar in the place.

If a bar has a bolt on the end, have nothing to do with it unless you want a nice beater bar to do messed-up stuff with. Like clean and throws, f’rinstance.

Thanks fellas, unfortunately, it was sold before I could get there. Oh well.
