Although Im not known around here and I am, for the most part, a lurker, Im not sure if Ill get (or even want) a reaction to this post. I just feel I gotta write it down somewhere, share it with people that may understand - coz Im way too ‘badass’ to share with anyone I know personally.
After years of training, it has only been the past few months that Ive finally seem to have gotten the hang of it all. Reaching some strength goals and finally hitting the 90kg mark on my weight, as well as actually looking like I lift - which I never thought Id achieve as a typical lanky tall guy.
But just as it felt I was getting somewhere & had it all dialed-in, I started feeling some pain on my elbow. I backed off training to no avail, and in short I finally got the doctors report saying that the tendons in my right elbow are fucked (or ‘calcified’ in his words). I dont want to write myself off as a bodybuilder but at this point I can barely use my tricep without causing my elbow pain - its the most fucked up thing ever, especially being so active and only 25yo.
Anyways, Im writing this here; half with the purpose of venting, and half with some hope that someone here can just give me some kinda cure or way around my problem. Im starting to give up though…
It’s always tough when you get dealt something like this, but those who succeed in life are the ones that keep their head up and work even harder when times get tough. Be smart, ask the doctors what you can and cannot do, and work as hard as you can to prehab/rehab/lift as much as you are allowed to.
Whenever I go though a rough patch, it always helps to put things in perspective. Think how fortunate you are, realize what you have around you, and think about how much worse off you really could be. Your not paralyzed, you don’t have life threatening disease, you don’t life in Haiti, you have a place to sleep at night, food on the table, and air in your lungs. Suck it up, work as hard as you are allowed to, and push through it. You can still work legs, you can still run, you can still be active.

Thanks man, I like where your heads at… I will be going for 2nd/3rd opinions on it but its hard for me to be optimistic - this was kinda the only good thing I had going in my life. Ill work around it, just wont be what I want to work at.
shit man, you made it sound like you were dying or had some life threatening disease. Your tendons are fucked up and causes pain? get surgery, do your rehab and get back underneath the damn bar. Yeah, it sucks, but: shit happens, man-up, deal with it, figure it out. Just fix your shit and if you are serious about lifting, you will be back in the gym. Good news is, it’s only an elbow, your leg-press and leg extensions are going to be massive after a few months
