Gagnes Cyclone and Incline Praying Mantis

I was just reading the article about ab circuit training (http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=459670). But for some reason there are no pictures of the Gagnes Cyclone or the Incline Praying Mantis, so I really do not understand how to do them, can anyone offer some help??

Why dont these exercises ever get mentioned any more? Not good enough to stand the test of time neh?

Probably because they are not worth the bang for the buck.

if the tradition ab training has created vicious abs why go through “special” moves?

lift heavy and cook right and you won’t need much fancy ab work.

To answer op if you put your knees on a decline bench and elbows on an ab ball and mimic this movement for the mantis…if I’m right nobody calls this a mantis it an ab roll out.

simple.

ab rollouts are damn wicked!

Yeah they are! i did 3 sets of 15 and was smoked for days. the only direct ab stuff I do is roll outs sometimes and planks… probably each about once a week.

I wanna be able to do ab rollouts from my feet and not my knees. That would be legit I think.

From the feet? Man, my abs just convulsed. lol

I do the incline ones on a ball and I’m torn up for days too. I superset the rollouts with planks dragons flags and planks 2-4x8-12

THAT is nasty.

Sometimes I bring out the contact twists.
