On the more serious side. Read the thread that’s been posted in here about 20 times above (yes, I’m too lazy to copy and paste it). Once you’ve read that thread, read all the threads that thread links to!.. Then come back and tell us what you think you are doing wrong and how you are going to go about correcting it. We’ll help you from there…

I’m no doctor, but my advice to you would be…

  1. Don’t sneeze - you’ll break
  2. Stay inside on windy days.
  3. Read the forums for info
  4. Lose your camera.

Learn to squat, deadlift, bent over row, and overhead press. Do these three times a week for two months. Eat everything you can get your hands on and report back.

My suggestion: we wire up T-Nation so that it gives posters an electric shock everytime someone suggests an article and the poster doesn’t read it. If they have read the article then they don’t get a shock. Half the time the electric shock will be more stimulus than their training. In extreme cases the electric shock will have more calories than they eat for breakfast. But in all cases it will at least ensure that people frikkin’ read and learn something.

Original poster: how much weight do you SQUAT. How often. How much do you increase this weight every week. How many weeks have you done this.

If your answers are something like …

… I don’t squat
… I do the same weight I always have
… I’ve been working out 4 weeks and squatted twice
… what’s a squat?

Then you are hopeless.

Actually, he DOES need to drink milk and do squats. The fact that you don’t know “how doing a squat can make his biceps grow” makes you look pretty clueless.

Everyone and I do mean everyone with several years of hard training under his belt will tell you that if you will just concentrate on the big compund lifts, that is what will give you the most growth at the fastest rate. Especially when you first start out.

This kid should not be doing curls at all. He should go to Amazon, find a copy of Brawn or Super Squats, follow the routines to the letter and eat like there’s no tomorrow. His arms will take care of themselves.

Also, I make it a policy never to say anything to someone on a forum that I wouldn’t say in person to a really big motherfucker. It keeps me polite.

Mason, good advice from somebody who apparently gets all his lifting advice from Weider magazines. Have you bothered to ask the OP if he is consuming enough calories? Getting enough rest? Focusing on compound lifts more than isolations?

Typical advice I’ve seen from other posters here is to ask for the OP’s routine first, then give advice from there and so on. The OP for this thread gave the other posters NOTHING to work with. Except for a photo that didn’t even highlight the supposedly problem area.

Biceps shouldn’t be trained in giant sets by a beginner and they certainly shouldn’t be trained 5 days on and 3 days off. Biceps are NOT the fastest-recovering muscles in the body. Your body uses them nowhere as often as your abs, lower back, and calves.

Mason, I’m not going to insult the OP. I’m going to give him two better advices:

  1. Read the Are You A Beginner? thread.

  2. Whatever Mason33 says, do the opposite.
