Frustrated With Myself

There should be a 20 articles read pre-requisite to post on these forums.

It’s a joke…I’m sure it is…it HAS to be…

An entire week eating 100g of protein EVERY DAY!?!? I’m surprised you don’t look like one of those disgustingly veiny “body builders”.

First thoughts here is to get a helmet, otherwise you’ll get killed here with that sort of opener. Secondly, I hope you can see sarcasm and understand that when it is layed on very heavily like it is here, you have made some dumb/ignorant comments. Immediately ask for forgiveness and ask for HELP because you need it. When people give you help, thank them and spend a month or so using their advice. Only then may you question it.

In general though, Eat BIG, lift BIG (compounds dummy) and SLEEP. Read the articles on this site to figure out for yourself what the three of those ideas mean.

I’ve spent more than a whole week, but I’ve been on a 100g+ protein diet, comprised of my whey protein, creatine, and mega men multi-vitamins. I’m not seeing where I lack in my nutrition
Ryoungy, you HAVE to read the newbie thread here in the beginners forum.
This is MANDATORY!

BEFORE you bitch about us telling you to read article, you have to understand that unless you read these articles, you will NOT understand or even accept the suggestions you will get.

One of the first responses to your thread was your diet needs to be in check and your response was “its fine” without even knowing WTF to look for.

Three steps.

1- Read this thread…
http://www.T-Nation.com/readTopic.do?id=640350

2- Adjust your training and diet according to the information you obtained in step 1.

3- Come back in 12 weeks and tell us what you think.

I don’t necessarily think this is a joke. I think many of us take for granted where we came from or started.

Grams of protein and compound movements are preschool level for many of us, but are college level classes for many FNG’s.

Also, I bet there is more then one guy criticizing here who’s numbers or body comp isn’t much better then the OP.

I’m not critiquing his physique, you ass. I’m wondering if he’s some kind of genetic freak with a 3rd chest muscle over his xiphoid process. I’ve never really seen anything like that it before.

If you’re training hard and not seeing gains you’re problem is probably diet. Check out some of the nutrition articles on the site and get eatin’.
Uh no,his main problem is the fact the only exercise he mentioned was db curls using 30lbs…

And dude no offense but wth is up with your right pec?it looks shiveled, even compared to the left one

This has got to be a joke, and one of the strangest pics ever posted.

It kind of looks like he is straining doing god only know what with his arms straight down to his sides.

Instead of posting an insult to you like some others on this thread, I’ll give you a bicep routine that i used when i was first starting out. I literally had no biceps, but that quickly changed. This routine is not heavy or complicated. The biceps are one muscle that responds very well to direct isolation work with very light weights. Once you build up your’ bi’s you will want to start using much heavier weights, but this will put the first few inches on.

Here’s what to do.

you’r going to do only 1 exercise.

Seated single arm preacher dumbbell curls

(this will isolate your bicep and the technique i’m giving you is a way to fully break this muscle down and force it to grow)

Sit down on your sofa or a CHAIR or a weight bench. You generally want your thighs to be no more than 90 degree angle. more than 90 is too much back involved. something lower than 90 is perfect.

take your arm and lay it across your knees with your elbow on one knee and your hand on the other. now take your curling arm and put your elbow in the crease between your hand and wrist.

to do the movement. pronate the hand to the floor to isolate the biceps and remove the forearm out of the movement. the forarm will still be involved but it wont fail before your bicep does.

now curl up in a very slow and cintrolled manner. squeezing the hell out of the bicep especially at the top.

you can start off doing 4 sets a day or 5 sets , add a warm up.

you are going to use stripper sets or just crab about 3 or 4 different weighted dumbbells.

the rep range is going to be extremely high.

1st set- grab the heaviest dumbbell and curl for about 12-15 reps, with only a few more reps left in the tank, save them

no rest

now grab a lighter dumbbell and do another 12-15 reps

no rest

another 12- 15 reps

last dumbbell should be done until you are doing partial reps, do a bunch of those and then the last 20-30 seconds you will perform a static hold on the weight in peak contraction position, mis position, and low position depending on the set, try them all

that is all 1 ginat set

do that 3 or 4 or 5 sets everyday

rest when you fell to tired or too beat

dont rest when just sore, you can push right thru that in one set

rest when you can’t get a pump

you can go 5 days on and 3 off if you need to

just remember the biceps are the fasting recovering muscle you have. they are hard to overtrain and if you do start to feel the lack of function in them, just rest, then go destroy them again day after day

Er, I meant to say I am NOT critiquing his physique.

I’m feeling pretty down on myself. I don’t exactly feel sore or see any gains, and I’ve been trying to work out really hard this past week, really trying to gain muscle and get into weight lifting alot more. I’m doing dumbbell curls of around 30 lbs each, the weight is semi-hard but I don’t feel a burn or soreness after I do my sets of reps.

What I don’t get is how I’m doing it with correct form but there’s still not any change and its upsetting because everytime I do it, its just a waste of time then. I really want to build my upper body and gain more muscle but it doesn’t seem like it will happen. Anyone have any suggestions or crit/comments?
1. It takes longer than a few weeks, months, and many times years before people achieve their goals.

 2. How old are you? From your picture it looks like you’re 12. Take your time, if you lift hard and eat right muscle will come in time.
