Frustrated With Myself

I’m feeling pretty down on myself. I don’t exactly feel sore or see any gains, and I’ve been trying to work out really hard this past week, really trying to gain muscle and get into weight lifting alot more. I’m doing dumbbell curls of around 30 lbs each, the weight is semi-hard but I don’t feel a burn or soreness after I do my sets of reps.

What I don’t get is how I’m doing it with correct form but there’s still not any change and its upsetting because everytime I do it, its just a waste of time then. I really want to build my upper body and gain more muscle but it doesn’t seem like it will happen. Anyone have any suggestions or crit/comments?

That necklace may be completely blocking your throat chakra, which will negate any weightlifting gains. Try removing it and watch yourself become a beefcake in a matter of hours. Don’t worry, all the effort you did has been “banked” by your muscles, and they’re getting ready to grow once the blockage has been removed.

You’re joking… right?!

If you’re training hard and not seeing gains you’re problem is probably diet. Check out some of the nutrition articles on the site and get eatin’.

Listen dude. Before you post on this site asking stuff like this, take the time to read some of the articles. The way your post is worded makes it appear that you don’t even know the basics. There is a crapload of knowledge on this site and posting questions like this is only going to get you murdered in the forums.

Key words here…“Tried”.

A whole week huh? wow. You probably are not eating enough too. Your post says nothing of your diet composition, which is probably the biggest issue.

It takes more than lifting only.

Gaining muscle is:
80% diet and rest
20% your wo program.

You have it backwards and wrong right now. It seems you have this thought:

100% your wo program

You are young and a new guy when it comes to lifting. This is obvious from both your pic and question. You aren’t going to grow bigger from doing biceps curls. You need to first educate your self by reading. Start here
http://www.T-Nation.com/readTopic.do?id=640350.

Then you can put together a simple program of NUTRITION complimenting your compound movement based lifting program. I capitalized Nutrition because this is where it all begins and ends. Even if you have the best lifting program in the world for you, you won’t make size or strength gains if you aren’t giving your body the nutrients it needs to repair and grow.

A lot of FNG’s don’t or won’t accept this. I remember being twelve or thirteen and wanting to big muscles and thinking all I need to do is start lifting weights and thought nothing of the eating part consequently I never made any gains in those years and was frustrated and thought it was impossible to for me to get big muscles. When I learned the secret of eating gains started coming.

Good luck,

D

You better be friggen kidding me???

Yeah, as someone else stated a whole week? Get serious my friend. This process takes time. Think in terms of months and years to see considerable positive changes.

Most people don’t see much gains in one week of lifting. Looking in a mirror on monday and then checking back on friday is a poor way to measure gains. Also doing bicep curls doesn’t build your upper body like you need, use lifts like bench press, deadlifts and, and pull ups to start adding mass. Make sure your eating a lot

Also i recommend taking the picture of you off of the display under your screename.

I’ve spent more than a whole week, but I’ve been on a 100g+ protein diet, comprised of my whey protein, creatine, and mega men multi-vitamins. I’m not seeing where I lack in my nutrition

haha i heard you only get big you if do bicep curls in the squat rack. and it takes 2 weeks to be show ready not 1. week one is the bulking week and week 2 is cutting. so just drink 50 protein shakes a day with noexplode and youll be huge

And apparantly you never will.

this has to be a joke. if its not go read any of the nutrition articles on this site that arent meant for “cutting” or “getting ripped!” and maybe, just maybe, youll start to understand where you lack in nutrition. 100g’s of protein? thats practically eating to be 100lbs. for the love of god man…

WTF is this shit.

Ryoungy, admit that this is a joke, please!

I think it’s the Prof’s day off and he was feeling a bit bored.

This can’t be real…

Dammit kid! Read the great material on here & apply it! It’s not hard, it’s not rocket science. And screw the curls for now.

What is up with the middle of this dude’s lower chest?
