Front Squat 12 Week Challenge

.
.
Doesn’t look pretty esp from behind, but lifetime PR of 1x225 here on Friday, after failing and dumping the same weight twice on Monday.

Great front squat and kudos for keeping 2000s pop-punk alive.

Not bad, but if i can advise:
Get the bar further up on your delts, it looks like the bar was almost in your hands. The bar should almost be choking you when it’s in the proper position. Hard to tell from that one video obviously. Getting the bar higher will also help you to pull your shoulders back, resulting in a tighter upper back and less losing the bar forward.
Work on staying as upright as possible. I use a cue from Paul Chek that i read years ago: squat down between your legs.
Once you are staying more upright, consider bringing your heels in a little closer. Your stance looked wide to me, more like a back squat.

Heels closer together, stay upright, squat almost straight down, let your knees go forward (don’t sit back anymore than absolutely necessary).

Folks,
I’ve enjoyed the front squat focus. I hit some serious PRs - from a starting max of 175x3 or 185x2, to doing 3 sets of 185x3 on an “easy day” and doing 225x1 for a milestone PR single.
I’m done with it for now. Next few gym sessions are more for my mental health than pushing PRs. I’ll get back to the hard stuff once things settle out in a few weeks or months.

Here’s my end result for the challenge: 350x1

At the start I did 315 for 1 (though not a true max) and 275 for 8, so this is some solid improvement for a lift I’ve already been progressing on for a while. This has been fun- thanks to everyone who kicked off the challenge and kept it lively in here.

A very serious lift.

Great work!

140kg for a triple. Pretty close to a 100% effort. I had no more reps but could have added another 2.5/5kg at a push and risk of injury and or failure.

strong squatting sir, very nice.

Nice way to come in at the 11th hour and still put up a great show. Nice effort mate.

295x1

I started off this challenge by hitting 260, and this was deeper and easier. Going to keep these in the rotation for a while, and 315 should be coming before too long.

Thank you. I really would like to get back towards 180kg/400lb for a single. This is my gold standard.
