Ah, I don’t really consider myself anything past intermediate.
Everything’s eventual and It will hopefully all come back to me if I can avoid any further injuries. I like that, “The Trek of Broken Parts”. ![]()

It will; I know. I literally just made it up while writing that post.
It was good, I liked it!
What are your lifts currently?

Tough to say as I’m regaining/gaining strength pretty rapidly.
Here’s my log: In The Defense of Indifference - Training Logs - Forums - T Nation
A monster! Very nice, dude!

Well it certainly inspires me to be better than the subject of the videos. Success!

Oh well, the cocky gets beat out of you sooner or later, but you either have balls or you dont.
A little bit of arrogance is a good thing, because wisdom can be aquired, balls, not so much.[/quote]
Arrogance of youth naturally comes and will fade into unreflective stupidity.
Wisdom has to be required, that much is true, but expanding on it and integrating it honestly into your life, that takes real balls.
Otherwise it’s just fortunecookism.

I could see 600 pounds on your back going down. I’m having trouble visualizing it coming back up.

For what it’s worth, he did say a year lol. Granted 600 was clearly too heavy at the time anyway.

I guess I just have trust issues.
Ill give a thousand dollars if this kid can produce a vid of himself squatting anything north of 350. Not being a dick, you seem like a nice kid, if you want advice, approval, friendship, support, or whatever it is your after. Its best to just be honest, This is a lifting sight, most here know a little about lifting, and will spot a fraud, or troll a mile a way.
I have squatted 550 in the past at a meet, I recently came back to training after a year, and a half of being glued to a couch, no training what so ever. I posted pics when I came back to start my journey, and my pics look like a guy that used to squat 550 and took a year off Anytime`s Comeback Please dont feel the need to lie, if you want help ask for it, if your trolling why be a dick. I know when you surf the internet, everyone has a 750lb squat, so 600 sounded reasonable, but in my lifetime in person, Ive only met a handful of people that could honestly squat 600lbs raw to meet standards, and they were big and strong looking all over. These guys could take 10yrs away from lifting, and still have impressive builds (shoulder`s, forearms)
Please dont feel the need to respond to my post, either in deffense, or in honesty. Lets just move forward with what ever it is your after, and not try to be an internet hero that used to have a 2000lb total, but now cant squat or bench, because he`s all banged up at 23, wore out from all the years of heavy lifting.
Dude you need to start squatting, and yes youll have to start at 135, and you wont be able to tell people you used to be a beast back in the day, but by being honest, and starting from the begining you might actually get strong for real one day. Nobody believes your stories here, or in the gym you train at, but atleast by being honest, and saying your just starting. People will help you, and not be lauging behind your back. I own a gym, and I see kids like you all the time, they read on the internet that everyone can lift 900lbs, and they know they can only do 100 (because theyre just starting) So they make up a story about how super strong they used to be before they got injured. Now they have to just stick to light weight and machines. Dont be this guy dude, nobody likes this guy, because we all started at 100, and we know how hard the journey is, Thats why were all willing to help. Goodluck, I hope this sinks in ![]()
On second thought, I suppose a 600 pound raw squat is reasonable. I mean, if Alpha can hit one for 605, I suppose pretty much anyone can do it.

That’s what I thought.
I supose you guys are right, he could’ve just had a rough year. What were you other lifts OP, before you got injured ?

Hey, 550’s a big raw squat, what did you weigh?
(And you ought to move your log to the O-35 section, there’s lots of good lifters/good guys and gals there.)

I had a similar squat. I should have that and more pretty quickly once I throw the belt back on.

That’s awesome. I’ve never hit 500. I just missed 468 my last meet and settled for 440. I’d like to hit 500 in the 198’s before I die but I’m not sure that will ever happen unless I give up my other hobby and really chase it, and maybe peak with Smolov. Time is ticking and I’m not getting any younger, though.
