This is my buddy doing his deadlift, he’s super proud and is trying to get a following on YouTube by posting workout videos.
What do you guys think?

I see someone who’s going to have back issues sometime in their future?
That’s what I’ve told him, he says “This is how it works for me!”
He needs to get stronger and clean up his lifts.
Never mind the criticisms for a moment, I think he’s got the right idea.
How many guys at our kind of level (I deadlift similar weights) actually get in and do a heavvy single on the deadlift?
Power to him, and I hope he gets his following.
That said, I’d get lower if I was him.
Liked and commented with some mindless support.
no
I have respect for anybody who deadlifts. IMO maybe not a good idea for everybody to do max singles on deadlifts because that’s where your form breaks down and it gets dangerous. That’s what were seeing in this video. I follow 531 so the weight I use always feels far less than my max. That being said, I want to do a max single all the time I just don’t.
I've seen a lot of Deadlift videos. Alot of good deadlifters are going to tell you that your not being patient at the beginning of your lift. You are straightening your legs too early and essentially doing a stiff legged deadlift. I catch myself doing this sometimes too. Good luck and kudos on your lift.
He’s taking like a Brian Shaw stance, except he’s like 1/10th the size of Brian Shaw. I’d definitely have him move his feet closer together and his arms in.

I think he is awesome. The scene displayed is a perfect display of human courage and excellence. He should definitely get a youtube channel - he will inspire thousands.

That perplexed me as well.
I notice a lot of you keep referring to my friend as me, this is not me, this is my friend.

Na I don’t think anyone was referring to you. Everybody said “he”.
crowdhater said “good luck on your lift” I just wanted to make sure there was no confusion!
I hope your friend enjoys the physcial therapy he’s more than likely gonna need.
OP why would he expect to get a following over this youtube DL vid?
I think his max shrug video is even more impressive. This guy is going places.
OP, are you the guy whose voice cracks in the video?

I’ve done heavy singles since I started. I’m not unusual.
People at this level should not be teaching.
He has nothing of value to share, for a couple reasons: 1. He has not reached a remotely impressive level of strength.
2. Beyond the fact that his form is really gross, he hitches the deadlift. It’s not a good pull. What exactly can anyone learn from this video?
I’ll go ahead and answer that question, because it’s really the biggest problem your friend has. A beginner can’t learn from a video like this, because the form is so terrible. An advanced lifter can’t learn from this, because the guy in the video isn’t advanced. There is essentially no audience for this, and that is why he will fail.
Your boy needs to spend some more time in the gym before he tries his hand at the youtube fitness industry.

well shit, I should’ve watched his other videos first. He’s worse than I thought. A terrible personality/sense of humor to go with his terrible lifting. What a guy.
Unless he breaks some world records with his lifting, his feeble mind will prevent him from having success.
