I’m currently doing HST but have decided to try ABBH afterwards. That’s in a few weeks time.
Should I take a period (a week or so) free from training or maybe a week of deload before I embark upon the cruelty of ABBH?
Thanks!

I wouldn’t because you are doing HST, which is a fairly low-volume program. You can go from that program right into ABBH to make fantastic gains. If you were going from another high-volume program into ABBH, I’d recommend 3-5 days off.
So hit it! I’m nearly complete with week three of ABBH. Strength is up, size is up, and I love it. I did SFM prior to this (low-volume strength program to high-volume ABBH program).

I too am nearly complete with week three (Day 21) and I absolutely love it also! I opted to not incorporate the “arms option”. The only thing I did prior to starting ABBH was to take one week and determine my 1RM for all lifts. I did this by performing five sets of 5,4,3,2,1 reps gradually increasing the weight on each set. I got pretty close to determining my 1RM since my ABBH weights that I am using seem to be “right on”.

Sound great, I expected (and hoped for) an answer like that!
