Fortune Favors the Bold

You just keep hitting the PRs. I’m jealous as hell. Have a great day tomorrow big man.

Thanks Bulldog. Things have been steady, since I got out of the rut. Let’s hope that I stay out of it for a while.

OG - -Let me know how that works for you…lol. It is surprising, though, how often I have strong lifts when I am sick. I am not wure why that is.

Steve - I am so fixated on “the big ones”, that they probably don’t mean as much as they should. I am so close…but so darned far away from them.

Happy thanksgiving!!

Good work in here, LS, I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Awesome bench brother. You have a great arch, I’m jealous of both.

Thanksgiving workout.

Crappy. Illness has finally settled into my lungs and I have no get up and go. I guess the good news is, I really needed a deload. So, I took it.

Military Press
barx20x2
95x10
135x10
170x3
205x3
230x2
245x1

Hoping to feel better by Sunday.

Thanksgiving, however, went very well. A good time was had by all…

Mr. Strick

You are crushing PR’s, way to prep for the holidays. Nice lifting

You crack me up…deload with 245…get well soon!

Well, it was a deload because I didn’t go any higher, didn’t do any more sets and did no assistance. So, yeah…a deload

Bench Day -

Still under the weather. I am beginning to wonder if this thing is ever going away. It does seem better, however.

Bench
barx20x2
95x10
135x8
185x5
225x3
265x2
300x2
330x1
350x1
360x1

Board presses
385x2 - changed boards during set
– 385x1 - 2 board, for the 1st rep
–385x1 - 1 board - PR +20# for 2nd rep…this one took everything I had.
405x1 - 2 board

Face Pulls
110x12x3

That’s it. Hopefully the improvement continues. Back to work tomorrow. After 5 days off, that is a tall order.

Wow, a 385 1 board. That is awesome. A 405 no board is just around the corner.

All your pressing is approaching some big milestones. Keep it up.

x2. You’ll be pressing in the 4’s in no time.

Thanks gents. I sure hope it moves quickly.

Back Day -

Seated Rows - Close Neutral
100x15
160x12
210x10
255x10
300x8x2
255x10

Seated Rows - Wide Neutral
255x10x3

Rack Pulls - bottom pin
225x3
315x3
405x1

I almost died on the rack pulls. I haven’t done any pulling in…what…6?..8?..10 months? It showed. When I pulled the 405#, I thought I had ruptured an organ and got sharp pains in my obliques, on both sides. I, initially, thought I had torn them. But it is better now. Maybe I should ease into it a little more slowly.

"340x4 - PR +2 Reps "

Cool!

I think a slow re-introduction to rack pulls may be best.

Thanks, Null. It felt good. And it was cool…at least for me.

Steve, I think you are spot on. Slow and easy. I don’t think i will ever be able to really push them hard, so why break myself with them.

This made me laugh because it’s exactly what I would have done and probably everyone else on this forum. Why do we never learn?. We know what will happen but we go and do it anyway!!

Goals for the coming year (next 4/20, not 12/31)…

  • Military Press - 285#, 275#x2
  • Bench Press - 405#, 315#x8, 365#x4

Strick- Look familiar? these were your goals from last 4/20…and look where you are today!! There or almost there and way ahead on the timeline…Outstanding work!!

Actually, I had forgotten all about those. Thanks for the reminder!
I think the Military Press number is doable and more.
The bench press, however, is still going to be a long shot. Only 35# to go, but they go sooooo slow.

4 1/2 months to go!

Good, hell any lift that doesn’t involve a loud pop and stream of explicatives is a good one…

You’re moving serious weight, and more and more…
