Fortune Favors the Bold

Ok, here is the deal…stop it…stop it right now…this is insane…300# wide grip rows!!! That is just sick( in the teenage kinda good way)…unbelievable!! You’re going to need a weight stack to tie to the weight stack![/quote]

OG - I really need to get a video up. Then it might not look so impressive. These are low rows, into the gut, not chest level. Also, my abundant gut shortens the ROM.

I’ll see if I can get a video…to show off my girth.

You need a new name. Like Littlehouse or Littletank. You’re a strong Mofo my beastly brother.

Lol…thanks Steve. How about “Oklahoma Fatz”? Okay…so i am not as fat as some, but still.

Military Press -

I would say shoulders, but I got started late, because work called (I am on call). Only had time to get my millies in.

275x0 - just did not explode enough with this. I got right to the edge of it.

275x1 - PR +5# - got pissed off after the former attempt. This time I exploded with everything.

250x2
225x5

That about did it. Need to deload on my millies.
Also, I had lockout issues on that PR. I never have lockout issues. I just wonder if it was fatigue from the previous attempt or the emergence of a weakness…

Yeah buddy ! 275 done now it’s time for 280 great stuff congrats on PR !! I thought you were an IT guy? IT guys aren’t supposed to be BEAST!

Thanks, OG. Yeah, and IT guys named “Skip” aren’t supposed to be 6’1" and 285# either  It can be a surprise to some people.
Of course, before getting into computers, I was a cop. And before that, I played football for 13 years. Seems like a natural progression, don’t you think!?

I need to work on the transition, at about the top of my head. If I can strengthen that, I have several more pounds in me.

LS- that is some serious pressing .
You just OH pressed what 2/3 of this site says they squat.
Nice work.

Love how little man has your back with support

Holy cow! That was huge. Great work.

Thats some impressive pressing Strick.

^^ What Jack sez!! That was something to see!

That’s some big Mil pressing. Quite impressive.

Dang!

PS, bolt your rack to the floor!

Thanks everyone. It felt really good to get the two 25’s on there. ONLY 25# to go. I am still hoping that one of us will hit it 300 before the end of next summer. We will see.

MJ, I just don’t want to put holes in the floor of the bedroom. It’ll hold  I hope…

Great lifting LS. Another 5 lbs and that’s 20 stone.

That’s like pressing an offensive lineman overhead for gods sake!!

So a stone is 14#? Maybe a high school offensive lineman. Man, those kids keep getting bigger and bigger. In fact, I ran across a pic of our offensive line, my senior year. I was the center. And at 6’2" and 230#, only one of the other 4 was smaller than me. Going right to left, they were 6’7"-240#, 6’4"-260#, 6’2"-230# (me), 6’1"-220# and 6’6"-280#.
I’ll see if I can scan it.

Bench -

Man, I got slammed by something on Friday. By the time I left work, I had a mild headache and was a little stuffy. 2 hours later, I had a severe headache, my sinuses were completely full and I was getting achy. By bedtime, headache was still there, even after 800mg of ibuprofen, sinuses were completely closed off and draining like hell, joints ached, ears hurt, eyes hurt, was hypersensitive to sound, light and touch.

I was a little better Saturday, though still on the more severe side. Today, I feel much better, but completely drained. The workout went fairly well, all things considered, but I am hurting now.

Anyway…

350x2 - PR +1 Rep

Face Pulls
110x12x3

I left at least 1/2 a rep in the tank on the 340#…maybe a full rep
I would have liked 3 at 350#, but the reps at 340# killed that.

About to take the fsmily out to eat. Only 2 work days this week. Hopefully I am fully recovered for the long weekend.

Oh…and this was supposed to be a deload. I suck!

Back - Didn’t wanna be there workout

Body still achy and weak from the illness. Looking forward to clearing the system.

Consistently impressed with your bench progress, LS! Great work and great progress in all the lifts!

Thanks Steely. Bench is getting there. I will feel much better about it when the 1st number is a 4.
Until then, I give myself solace by telling myself, “Your old…what do you expect?”

Nice Mpresse !! its making me want to get back in the race. Got to give credit where its due. Your progress seems to be picking up as of late.

I am noticing a trend here Strick…whenever you lose your Oompf, get afflicted with some temporary illness, or just dont feel like banging the iron…you set freakin MULTIPLE PR’s!!! So taking a page from your book…Im going to inhale 30 BUDS tonight to wake up feeling like crap ( temporary illness), with a pounding headache and no desire ( Oompf) to hit the gym…I then proceed to do Squats…hell I am going to walk out 405…thanks for the lesson!!! Have a great Thanksgiving…great lifting and awesome Bench work…
