Back!
Tired, brain dead and out of synch. My hats off to all of you travellers!
Lessons learned…
Wife, daughter and youngest do not like bigger waves.
The 2 Autie’s (oldest son and I) do enjoy bigger waves.
My sons do not like snakes.
My daughter LOVES snakes.
Oldest son is terrified of dragonflies.
Everyone loves trains.
NEVER, EVER, go a whole week without lifting a weight!
While lifting today, I felt weak, fragile, easily fatigued and like I haven’t lifted in years. God willing, I will never take another full week off, unless it is because I am somehow physically unable to lift or have decided that I am done with it.
The day was not a complete bust, but I even felt unncoordinated and like I had lost my form.
Static Stretching
Bench
barx15x2
95x10x2
135x10
185x5
225x5
275x5
305x3x2 - Really heavy. Setup off. Almost fell off the left side on the bench on set 1.
3 Board Press
365x3
385x2 - bar drifted way right on rep 2. Almost lost it.
Pushdowns - elbows out
100x10
110x10
130x10
140x10
Facepulls
100x12
110x12x2
Not a lot here. Mainly just trying to get back in the groove. Hopefully the DOMS isn’t too bad.
I am really surprised how heavy everything felt. My shoulders, especially, did not like the load.

Now, see, if UGA ever actually beat UF, then you might have a point. Since UGA has pretty much been their bitch, though, I wouldn’t think it would phase you.
Go 'Bama, Roll Tide, on the other hand. Now that might elevate your ire.
I suffer from college football loyalty issues. I’m from GA, so pull for UGA. Having been a cop in Athens, though, seeing the big babies lose doesn’t worry me, though. I was a Bobby Bowden fan. And I also liked Spurrier (as a coach) and Saban and Meyer, currently. Pretty much, if the SEC wins, I am happy. Hell, if Vandy won the national championship, I would celebrate! Here’s to 5 NCs in a row![/quote]
QFT
Roll Tide Roll
I also pull for any SEC team, we except for Tennessee. Fuck Tennessee.
At least you don’t have to watch shitty Big 10 football.

In conference, I have never been a big Vol fan either. Seeing as Derek Dooley is the new head coach, though, (I went to HS with him. He was a year older.) I might have to re-evaluate.
That is very possible, Steve. My back felt pretty good by the time I got back. All of the arching, yesterday, though, has it just as sore as before I left
In keeping with the poetry theme…one of my favorites.
“Is all that we see or seem
but a dream within a dream”
Annabel Lee (Edgar Allan Poe) is another great one.
excerpt:
“But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.”

Not too much. Just enough to get the blood flowing and the muscles burning.
Not too sore, from yesterday. But there is a little bit.

Trying to arch my back when I bench makes my back hurt more then deads or squat. Maybe we’re trying to arch to much.
Saw you new thread title and thought of the Alan Parsons Project, then I remembered my old college Lit classes. Thanks for taking me for a ride in the way-back machine.
Schmidt, Poe is awesome. Hauntingly beautiful. Much more my speed than, “The fog rolls in on little cat feet…and sits on silent haunches.”
Steve - too much arch? I didn’t know there was such an thing!? I know what you mean, though. My back and legs are as sore after a bench workout as they are from a leg workout. They just aren’t as fatigued.
OP, wow! I haven’t thought about the Alan Parson’s Project in a while. Time to hit youtube!
SteelyOne, that is about my talent level Big lifting? eh… Big lifter? Oh yeah <acquires 2nd bowl of boiled peanuts>
I think I am a gorilla dreaming of being a man. Unfortunately, it is working, and I lost my gorilla strength.
Apparently, even gorillas shouldn’t take a full week off. Makes me think of the phrase “farm strong”. That is something one of my friends uses to refer to great, natural strength. In which case, I am “garden strong”. lol
Herb garden and potted plant - FTW lol And Colin, you are right, it is our own garden. I am the strongest guy in my yard!
No worries, OG. Those horns do wonders at keeping away predators
My boiled peanut binge is over. My stomach thanks me.
I have just enough in the freezer, though, to enjoy a quart bag every college football Saturday. It is going to be a good season…

you know - it wouldn’t cost that much to get somebody to ship you box every now and then after you run out…
I’d love to be mountain strong but right now I think it’s more like anthill…

Yes it is. My plan is to get up early and do GPP then go eat breakfast so that I have enough calories to do as little moving as possible from the 11:00am kick off until the PAC/Mountain West games wrap up about midnight.
