Yep.

Great training Skip. I have at least one body part aching everyday. Over 40+over 250 BW+heavy lifting = joint pain. I’m in the same boat.

Thanks all…and sorry for the absence. Very strange week, on many levels.

Harry, Wilson, Joe - Thanks. Military does seem to be my best lift, proportionally speaking. Not sure why, but I am not complaining.

sfp - I agree with Tony. Protein seems to be the biggest help. I don’t know if the Glucosamine Chondroitin helps or not. I take 150% of what the bottle recommends. Given how much my parts can ache, though, I am afraid to stop taking it

Null - Keeping up with everyone and seeing their progress really is inspiring. It is part of what keeps me lifting when the world seems a dark and confusing place. Well, that, just being hardheaded and realizing that the cloud/confusion will lift and my drive will return. I just need to keep pushing through it.

kpsnap - thanks for dropping in. It is always good to see a new face…especially when it isn’t attached to a bald head or adorned with a beard

Eco - You are dead on. And I have come to realize that heavy day after heavy day is at the root of much of it. I need to temper myself and slow down a bit…mix my weeks, where it isn’t heavy bench, followed by heavy squats, followed by heavy millies.

Catching up…

Been a wonky week. I have been feeling a lot of anxiety, especially at work. But nothing overly stressful has been happening at work. For the past 2-3 weeks, I have had no drive to lift…none, zero, zilch. As mentioned in the above post, I have done my workouts, out of pure hardheadedness and the fact that I know the drive will return and I will regret not doing it. In any case, today was a better day. I actually had a little umph.

As I had planned, I have been deloading this week…until today. Today, for the 1st time in weeks, I actually felt like I wanted to lift. So, I said to hell with the deload and just played.

Sunday - Bench deload
Tuesday - Squat deload

Today

Static Stretching

Military Press
barx15x2
95x10
135x5
185x2
215x1
235x1
255x1 - PR +5#

265x0 - knew better than to try. I could feel it in my arms before the lift. 255# went up easy enough, though, that I was cocky

135x28 - PR +1 Rep - There are a couple I shorted, but at 28 reps, who cares.

Shrugs
225x20x3

Back to it on Sunday. Although, I still haven’t decided what I am going to do. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I am considering taking a BB split and doing…
Sunday - Chest and Triceps
Monday - Squats, Calves and Pulls of some sort
Tuesday - Off
Wednesday - Back and Biceps
Thursday - Shoulders and Traps
Friday - Off
Saturday - Off

4 days might be too much, but I am thinking of finding out 1st hand.

Also, I have realized that my legs are asleep. They are just so lethargic. I need a sled, or bleachers to run, or something to get them firing.

I put on a wig and shaved for the avi pic.

Funny but when I watched your last millie vid, an ad popped up for deodorant. Hmm.

First there were krock rows. Now we have the Skip Press. 135x28 just nuts. Great lifting. I want my shoulders to be as ripped as kpsnap’s.

Is that a joke, ecogenx?

Just had my right shoulder put back together with five anchors. If you blow up my avi pic, you can see the horrific bruising.

Must be a good camera trick. Left shoulder looks ripped from here. What happened to the right shoulder??

The left is fine. It’s the right shoulder that was repaired.

Sorry for the prattle in your log, Strick.

Tore the muscle off the bone benching at a meet. No fun. But doing fine now. Passing time by living vicariously through everyone else’s training logs.

28 reps of any weight, let alone 135#, on the mp is amazing. My delts would explode. I’m officially impressed.
Don’t worry Kpsnap, if you work it right the shoulder can come back gooder than ever. Work the mobility a lot.

Damn! Strick, you rammed that 255 right to the top. No struggle there at all.

Skip, you da man (Bro Speak). Chin up and keep moving forward. Nice work on the 255 and 135x28. I just went and put ice on my shoulders for you

Steve, 30 is my goal. Then I am going to move up to 155 and start again. I reallyt hought that I would have gotten 30 on this one. I didn’t stop until I had finished 26. But once the groove was broken, my triceps started collapsing.

Prattle away!
That sucks about the shoulder. Glad to hear that it is mending well.

And eco is right on. You have good separation between the pec and front delt. And it looks like between the anterior and medial delt.

Thanks Harry, Tony. The 28 reps was exhausting. The 255 felt much more like a struggle than it showed. I was happy to hit territory on the otherside of 250, though. The 265 went just over the top of my head, but I couldn’t quite get through the transition. Next time…

Lol…thank you for pointing that out.
Believe it or not, my shoulders feel fine, right now. My middle back is sore, but the shoulders are happy.

Wow. Great work. For max and reps. Great to see you so motivated.

Holy Toledo…28 freakin reps with a paper clip is stellar in my book…but 135 for 28!!! And the max rep speaks for itself…outstanding work!

Actually, Goat, I can do 28 reps with a paper clip (though barely), so it’s really not that stellar. Those vids were outstanding, though, you’re right about that.

I suggest a name change to BIGstrick.

Thanks, Jack, OG and sfp.

sfp - just because YOU can do it does not disqualify it is stellar:) You move some good weight!
Also, I inquired about changing my name to just “strick”. I was told that name changes were frowned upon but I could contact a specific mod and ask. Never heard from him. Looks like the email hasn’t been read. Oh well…
