Forcing another deload-ish week, next week. Then I have to come up with a new plan. This shit isn’t working. I have a few ideas We will see.
Notes:
More protein
More sleep
Less back to back heavies

Nice work. The only thing that really sucks at our age is our recovery time. Sometimes I have the same problems with joints as well. You’ll come up with a plan that works. You’re a smart man!
My apologies for being soooo late with birthday wishes…so Happy Birthday from one who is many more miles on his bones!! wishing for you that the next 365 are as productive in weight room as the last 365!
Thanks, everyone. It will get sorted out. I am even seriously considering complexes, right now. I just have to figure out how to work them in. I am also struggling with my split. I can’t decide if I want to stick with the Sun-bench, Tue-squat and Thu-military split or if I want to go back to what I was doing before…upper body, lower body alternates where the 3rd workout day of the week is lighter.
The problem is, I want to do too much, and i will never recover if I put it all in.
Last bumbling day before my deload. Achy, drained and by the end of my 3rd working sets of millies, the outside of my left arm, down to my elbow, was killing me. Feels almost like a shin splint, but in my arm.
In perpetual catch-up… Sorry…
Have your weights or volumes increased quickly of late?
Hope it’s not tendon issues, I use straps to compress tendons in forearm… Works well for me…
Also, there was several research studies about NSAIDs impairing tendon health. So I use fish oil in doses sufficient for anti-inflammatory effects… (Wish budget allowed for flame out.)
Thanks, everyone. The weights felt heavy. And i am not used to doing multiple sets of multiple reps at weights over 200#, but I am pleased with the work. It would have just been nice not to end it in pain.
I’m not sure what to think about the arm. It has been a recurring issue for a while. My gut tells me that doing heavy bench AND heavy millies, every week, is just to much for my old ass body.
I am still mulling over how I want to train. I have some ideas I am going to throw out there for your opinions. I just need to time to get them on here.
Null, I do love my NSAIDs. I take 3 Glucosamine Chondrotin a day, as well as 10g of fish oil, and my joints still plat hell. I think I just need a plan to get the work done but put less stress on the joints.
I’m with Null in the perpetual catch up mode. Get see your lifts when you update You tube so caught your last benching. Pressing does seem to be your forte.

I likes me some heavy pressing too, Skip. I’m to stoopid to figure out how to train and not beat myself up. I do think you are dong a nuch better job than I!
