Actually, Goat, I can do 28 reps with a paper clip (though barely), so it’s really not that stellar. Those vids were outstanding, though, you’re right about that.

The left is fine. It’s the right shoulder that was repaired.
Sorry for the prattle in your log, Strick.
Tore the muscle off the bone benching at a meet. No fun. But doing fine now. Passing time by living vicariously through everyone else’s training logs.
Let me get in on the off topic too. Kpsnap, your chest and shoulders look great. I’ve been admiring the new picture.

28 reps. Holy crap. Many days I can’t count that high. That must have burned.
I would have thought that my shoulders would have been more burned than they were. My triceps were fried. Shoulders wer ready for another 10.
As to counting…I have my wife in there to handle that
Unfortuantely, math is not her forte. She has yet to get the number of reps right on a high rep set
Weed-eating
Weeding the garden
digging up broken off fence post
busting concrete with the sledgehammer
pushing a cart around Lowes with 80# of concrete, fence post, wife and three kids on board. Does that count as sled work?
Then an afternoon romp in the pool, with three kids hanging all over me.
355x1 - PR +10# -
Decided not to try 360#, even though 355# went up fairly strong. My shoulders and arms were not hurting after this, so I decided to not push it an end up in pain.
Hmmm…youtube is truncating the video. I will trying direct upload in next post.
Assistance Bench 225x23 - PR +1 Rep
225x10x2 - Triceps were obliterated at this point
Tricep Pushdowns - using Rope - not much left in the tris
100x8
90x8
80x8x2
Face Pulls
80x12
90x12
100x12

Triceps are fried! Goin to try squats tomorrow, in trying the 4 day split. Got a great pump in my shoulders and triceps. So swole that it hurt. Nice change.
Skip, you’re slammin. Nice work. When at first we don’t get a weight, f-it, go higher!!! It worked!!! Mental blocks are sometimes the hardest, especially if we don’t really know why they exist.

DAMN! a 10# PR followed by 225x23 rep PR
Smokin’ hot bro!
Thanks, George. That does seem to be the trend, of late. Go for a weight PR then try to follow it with a rep PR.
I have wondered if I could have hit 135x30, on the millies, and 225x25, on bench, if I had not maxed 1st. Honestly, I think I got more reps because I maxed 1st. I had some fatigue, but boy did the weight feel lighter on the rep sets!

That is the truth! Kind of like a blitzkrieg, modified for lifting.
I really had to force myself not to try 360#. I actually had the weight on the bar, then unloaded it. I knew that, get it or not, my arms and elbows would hurt like hell afterwards. Why do that!? It’ll be there next time.
Great work in here nothin but PR’s! I think the joint pain just comes with the lifting gig. We just need to learn how to manage the pain and distinquish between “Am I being a Puss” and “Shit I just blew out my Shoulder” somewhere in the middle there is a happy medium.
I hope you are throwing in some External Rotation days. They are not sexy movements but they are serious shoulder savers. I was going to buy Cressey’s Optimal Shoulder DVD but ran out of money this payday. It’s on my wish list for sure!
Tony, you are right. It took too long to make this little bit of progress. 405# is still the ultimate goal. I keep telling myself that, once I hit it, I won’t go over. I will just start working on reps at that weight. I just don’t know if I will be able to resist going higher. of course, at 50# away, I have forever to worry about that.
Colin, I do have rotations in my post-workout mix. And they do seem to be helping.
There are parts that always hurt, but they do not appear to be injuries. I figure they will always hurt…just a fact of life. The pain I get from doing too many sets, though, is hindering. Mainly it is psychologically hindering. So I am trying to avoid it, while just dealing with the other.
