Football Workout?

Hi Coach and all,

Congrats on your son! And thanks again for all the advice, although I’ve been cursing you recently, I’m doing Superhero and it’s the most exhausting thing I’ve ever done!

I’ll be done with around months end, and I play in a tackle Thanksgiving game every year. I was thinking Zombie would be the way to go to prep for it?

I don’t know… But I think if you re-write and provide a little more detail, someone here can help you. It sounds like you are trying to prepare for ONE football game on Thanksgiving day?? Do you really need to prep for that? I would understand warming up and stretching prior to the game but dedicating your programming from now till then for one singular game sounds like overkill.

Yo,

Well yes and no. I train year round-but the football game is a 1x thing. Friends from HS, trash talking, bragging rights etc… The Game serves as a date the usually I’m able to establish good habits for (proper sleep/diet). I’ve heard of people having similar mindsets for body building meets

I’ve been training for the,”power look” so presumably a football based workout would have some similar benefits…

Not really. As you can see here:

a football program is more oriented towards speed/explosivity. If I’m not mistaken CT laid down another longer template in this forum if you want to search it.

But for a general program Zombie would be very good and give you a power look along speed and cardio

Try this Training for Rugby Players?

I think CT has a strength/speed athlete program on tnation as well. I think it’s a weight cutting program that’s made to push your athleticism and strength.

Rugby World has this covered.

Yeah I was looking for that plan that was posted there but CT did a full plan for the OP there looks like what he’d need
