I’ve been reading that getting horse or stable matting is a lot cheaper than buying “gym mats”, and that they have the same, or better quality…
BUT…
I’ve been looking around and found that the gym mats are cheaper. I looked at a couple different local feed stores online, and also on ebay.
I can find both on ebay, and the gym matting is still cheaper per square foot.
Where are you guys finding the cheap stable matting?

In the stables, dude…
Nothing’s cheaper than stuff you steal.
Welcome back, by the way.

lol, yea, but I don’t want to risk getting shot at by a farmer with a shot gun.
I’m finally moved in to my house in NM, and lets just say I’ll be needing the Velocity Diet and my new weight set (that comes today) to get back into things. I took the “1240” off of my name because I know I can’t lift a 1240lb total anymore.
Hopefully I will get to put a larger number after my name once again…
I went to a local feed store and picked up two 4’x6’ 3/4-inch rubber mats for $75.
That was A LOT cheaper than gym mats. I do have some 2’x2’ interlocking mats surrounding my power rack that I put equipment on, but my main lifting is done on the stable mats.
They were heavy as hell (about 100lbs each), but they are durable and the smell of hay went away after a few months! LOL!
