Flexibility for Hips/Lower Back

Hello,

I’d be grateful for some advice on flexibility. I am quite stiff in my hips and lower back. I.e., I cant touch my toes etc.

I am trying to improve my flexibility. But most books that I come across simply seem to have instruction on an exercise/list of exercises. This isn’t really that helpful.

Could anybody recommend a stretching program to me please - that is similar is setup (in terms of progression) to for example convict conditioning.

Thank You

I’ve had a bunch of hip pain and tightness recently. One of the best things I’ve found is to get into a full squat everyday. Kelly Starret called it the 10 minute squat test I think. Anyway, squat down as to floor, knees out, heels on the floor and stay there. Move around, push your knees out with your elbows to stretch occasionally, and let everything relax. If you need to hold on to something at first to keep upright do it. Do it everyday for at least 10 minutes. You’ll be shocked how much difference it makes.

Hi thank you for the advice @Alrightmiami19c and @jskrabac.
This is good to know and I will definitely start using this. But I was wondering if you knew of any programs that I can follow?

Also can I clarify @Alrightmiami19c do I remain in the deep squat position for 10mins?

Yep, or however long you can and work your way up.
