Fish Oil: Total or DHA/EPA?

Chad Waterbury recommends 6 grams per day (100-150 lbs LBM) and Charles Poliquin recommends at least 5 per day. My question is, how do you measure? Do you use the total amount of fish oil, or just DHA/EPA. For example, Flameout has 3.8g of DHA/EPA and 4.6g fish oil.

The TOTAL. Because the 1 gram that is not EPA/DHA is still omega 3 fats that do many good things for you.

I’m pretty sure all Poliquin’s recommendations are based on amounts of EPA/DHA, not total. Fish oil comes in many different concentrations (although there is one that is most common). If you take a concentrated supp like Flameout or Now Super EPA, you don’t need as many caps to hit the target EPA/DHA you’re going for.

Correct.
