How much is too much? I’ve been getting ~9 servings with 1200 mg/serv of DHA and EPA together. So I’ve been getting ~11 g DHA/EPA per day and about 9g sat fat from the fish oil. Is this too much while trying to lose weight? I’ve read that some people prescribe more, but I’ve recently slowed my weight loss.
The rest of my diet is pretty clean consisting of Protein shakes, eggs, tuna, venison, greens, nuts, 97/3 beef, fiber supps, and a salad or vegetable throughout the day in usually 5 meals. I don’t usually keep a food log, but I will keep one and post it if needed. But basically I just want to know how much fish oil would be too much.

No one knows. Some say to stick with no more than 3 grams of DHA + EPA because that’s what research has used. Others (Poliquin comes to mind) say go haywire with the fish oil use.
Personally, I no longer exceed 3 grams of EPA + DHA. Fish oil truly is drug-like, and like every ohter drug, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.
Law,
The reason that I started taking so much in the past few weeks is that I’ve developed some tendonitis in my elbow. I’ve been icing and laying off the bench press and dips a little and its helping. But the fish oil makes me feel so much better that I can’t help but want to take more of it.
My original concern though was whether I was taking too much for optimal weight loss.
