First Vehicle & Best Vehicle?

I think I said it earlier in this thread, but I’d love an LS460. Comfortable and surprisingly fast.

First vehicle - A KIA Sephia I bought from my neighbor highschooler for $300 since she had tried to back out, but was accidently in drive and smashed into her parents car parked in front. Don’t know the year, but KIA’s suck. That one died when I let my sister borrow it and she set cruse control on and sat Indian-style with her legs crossed on the drivers seat.

Best car - 1996 Jeep Cherokee. This thing went cross country a couple of times, I drove it to work literally while on fire once for about 10 minutes, my wife had a thing for old Jeeps so that might have been a factor for us. I lived out of it for a couple months in California, so it’s resilience was amazing. And it was manual - which is fun, and the best theft deterrent system you can buy. It died when I got t-boned by a guy who claimed he was a lawyer but he was driving a Mazda, so I didn’t take him seriously. Unless it’s a property dispute, real estate law isn’t a weapon.

Currently I have a hybrid Ford Focus for work and going into the city, a traditional BMW SUV to schlep the kids arounds, go shopping, it has a tow hitch so the trailer and boat are good to go, and a shitty non-working Dodge Ram that I want to sell, but the cost to make it functional is more than I would get selling it.

First Car - My first car was a 1988 Dodge Aries K model. Actually not a bad car. I had it about 2 weeks before I smacked it against a tree.

Best Car - Currently own a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. First car i’ve ever purchased new. I really don’t have anything bad to say about it. We’re at 170kish miles, so it’s starting to have the usual maintenance needs, but all in all a great vehicle

Favorite car - I had a 1995 Honda Del Sol S from 1998 to 2007. I bought it from a little old lady school teacher (for real) with 12k on it. I put over 250k on it. The S was the base model, ~110hp, manual steering, manual brakes, manual transmission. it was as close to an old school MG or Austin Healey roadster i could get without getting to the British Leyland/BMC pit of expense, despair, and dependence on public transportation. It got 45mpg and, while not powerful, had enough torque to make driving Virginia backroads a ton of fun.

I believe it’s the same 3.0l TT I had in my 16 Explorer sport. I Livernois tuned it and wow, what a difference. The peak power isn’t substantial but the power curve and shift pattern really woke it up while being reliable too.

You are correct, also in the explorer.

Reliability is somewhat of a concern. I saw the website claims their changes improve drivetrain reliability. IDK if I believe that, but I’ll look into it more.

Livernois is the industry leader in the eco boost engines. I really liked my tune and I chose them partially due to their reputation for not pushing the tunes too far. Your call,in the end of course!

FWIW I haven’t tuned my 911 or my Maverick as I’m too much of a pussy to mess with the warranty on the 911, but I may yes tune the Maverick. It’s little 2.0l eco boost really wakes up with a tune.

My grandmother owned one.

So in Maine you also hate Massholes. I thought it was only a CT thing.

Not anymore I believe. V6 turbo.

We had a Ford Wagon and two convertible bugs growing up. At one point my dad had a Porsche 924 and I became a Porsche fan. He got into a pissing match with his partners and they all ended up driving nice cars - we had a 911 SC in 1981 - that car was bad ass.

At some point, I had a 1994 Ford Bronco with the 5.8 and I loved that truck almost as much as I loved my 1994 Acura Legend (it was my brother’s that passed).

I also got my brother’s 1999 Mazda PU Truck and I loved that truck. Vinyl seats, manual windows, he paid $13K cash for it new when he was worth over five million.

Now, my oldest brother has a Ferrari Testarossa, and Porsche Boxster, and a GMC 3500 Truck that screams “look at me.”

I ride my bike most of the time, when I do drive it is a 2005 GMC Yukon.

Transportation baby.

I always prefer Motorbikes. My first one was a Yamaha RD350 YPVS , best bike i ever had. at the Moment i drive a Kawasaki RZ-636

Yup everybody is going V6 Turbo. Ford did it over a decade ago and everybody laughed. Now Toyota and even DODGE have v6 Turbos. At least Ford still has the v8 option whereas the others don’t!

This one hurts. The new TRX or whatever they call it will have this.

This is the car. What I would do for one of these. Top 5 cars.

I saw a Cybertruck when I was driving yesterday and was surprised at how small they were. I thought it would be like a tank - it’s like a Ford Focus.

I see them all the time. They don’t seem to fit in any parking spots they try to park in.

Because they’re big or just the angles?

There are two Cybertrucks registered in Maine and I’ve either seen them both or the same one in two different towns. Local media spoke to one of the owners. He had a truly bizarre statement for someone who just purchased the most conspicuous vehicle sold in the USA.

“I don’t like attention. It wasn’t an attention-seeking move,” Carter told the paper. “People have taken my picture so much. I’m shy, so it has been a weird experience, where you pull up to a red light and every single person stares at you.”

It’s wide. And I imagine the drivers park like dickheads.
