look at the ass of an olympic lifter, and you shall find your answer.
btw i’m totally homo for Chigishev.
FTR I’ve added over an inch of ass since doing crap loads of ATG this past couple of months.
pics are needed to verify this claim.

I believe it, although verification is IMPERATIVE. I know (I should say I believe) that ATG and tons of sprinting and running have made the shadow of my ass weight about 20 lbs.

I heard that Nikki, everytime I put it on, I either hit a new PR in something, or come very close to it.

Oh really? I think we deserve to see this, you know for evidence of the effects of ATG and sprinting ![]()
Alright lovers! Today has been busy. I’ve been taking care of a sweet little poochie that lives by my office for a couple of days. I’ll catch up with all of you and the commentary in here tomorrow.
Yesterday was extremely busy and I came back here and slept for 11 hours! Went to the office for a bit today and did some k-taping on folks who couldn’t come in during the week. Got an epic adjustment by the coverage doc. Came back and took a 2+ hour nap. Yes, 13+ hours sleep in an 18 hour period. Must’ve needed it. Went to the gym to lift. Back here to walk the doggie one last time. Also did a quick 'n dirty wax job on the snatch 'cause my bf has decided to grace me with his presence later tonight. Frenchie suggested (in her log) that I post some high heel pics so y’all could vote on the pair for tonight. Haven’t been home yet (and I don’t keep a supply with me… at least not usually, LOL) so that’ll have to be for next time. FWIW, I have been known to keep one pair of heels in my car, but not recently. You never know when you might need 'em!
Saturday training: Chest/shoulders GVT
Warmup: Incline pushups on the bench, band shoulder mobility stuff, pullups (bench width grip), bradford presses
Bench @ 80: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 9, 10, 9, 10; 97 reps! Have to check my log, but pretty sure this is the most I’ve gotten… still trying for 100.
MP @ 60: 10, 8, 7, FUCK! That spot in my MB started acting up, so I ditched them ![]()
I broke my own rules and used 1) a machine (I never do machines for GVT lifts) and 2) did seated pressing… As a general rule I NEVER do any type of pressing while sitting. But, in the interest of not actually injuring myself I compromised.
HS seated shoulder press, plate loaded, 35 on each side: 10, 10, 10, 10, 8, 9, 10, 8, 9, 8: 92 reps
The big fucking scary dude was there benching in the power rack, like 4 pps… I ended up having a convo with him. This guy is like 5’8" and 3’ wide. He was wearing a Popeye shirt that said “These guns are loaded.” LOL. He actually is a really sweet man, very friendly. He saw me trying to stretch out my back between the MPs and the shoulder press machine. I guess he could tell that I was hurting and asked me about it. Long story short, turns out that he’s had numerous lifting injuries. Surprise, he has herniated discs in his lumbar spine. I told him what I do for a living and now I probably have a new patient. We do spinal decompression therapy at the office and it happens to be one of my specialties. Have had great success (like 90%+ of patients have resolution of symptoms.) Pays to be nice and talk to folks once in a while!
Did some other shit for accessory work.
Decline pushups off of a bench: 5 x 10
Upright rows @ 67: 3 x 10
Neutral chins: 3, 4, 1
I was pretty beat by then.
Be sure to check back later tomorrow. Preggers and I are headed to the indian brunch buffet again! Hell yeah! Can’t wait to see what the Monday weigh in looks like this week.
I’ll leave you with some JMT. This song came up when I was doing pushups. I love those angry mother fuckers and GZA is truly a genius.
Going home to shower for my man. Decent of me, huh?

It (my ass) won’t fit in single post.
<-------------------------------------Someone stretch out this doorway please------------------->
well done with your bench! and for sucking it up and using the machine so as not to injure yourself. i have trouble with that… i’ll remember you next time i should be using a machine.
isn’t it funny how the biggest scariest guys in the gym are often the most genuinely friendly with a good work ethic? i think it is very cool. it does indeed pay to be friendly sometimes. aren’t you glad you didn’t glare at him for being in your squat rack? lol.
Hey Veg, just catching up…
Hope your Sunday is nice, lazy and that you eat lots of yummy Indian food for ME!! ![]()
nom
Do you actually have a new doggie or are you just looking after it? Pics of new doggie ![]()
How long do you usually spend in the gym? It looks like a long workout.
I would also like to put in my vote for a pic of Max’s ass in you log or TILF, as he has no training log for me to lurk in.
quicky and dirty wax job on your snatch.
fahk. last time i had one of those it was at a local place in myhometown, didnt feel like driving to the big city for it that time…
ended up burned, bruised, and with wax stuck in the hair i had left bc i made the bitch stop.
i found out where she lived and killed her dog.
not really, but i thought about it.
(i used to keep heels in my car, too ![]()
Congrats on that bench work–97 reps! so damn close to 100
Geeeeeeeeez, had to make some notes to catch up with all of you! Thanks for reading and having interesting conversations in here in my absence.
Weird weekend, SAMA folks may have read about my bf issues. Suffice it to say, things have been on the rocks for a while and I am unofficially a free agent as far as I’m concerned. No worries. I’m in a good place as I’ve had a long time to think about all of this.
Moving on…
Blaze- <3 Pendlays, looking forward to doing some heavier ones after the GVT is over.
PB Andy- <3 White Zombie, but I wouldn’t pick them for studying. Interesting choice.
alexus- Pants and I have a love/hate relationship. LOL about the ‘worn-in’ jeans that just look silly. I use machines for what I need to in the gym, but I’d rather use free weights if I can. Oh, and I’m sure I’ll be chatting with the big scary dude again because (like a moron) I didn’t have any business cards in my bag the other day at the gym. Duh!
Cal- My back was red from gua sha. It is a technique where the practitioner applies oil to the skin and then uses a tool to scrape. Helps reduce congestion in the tissue.
deja- <3 acupuncture. Getting stuck again on Thursday. I get it at LEAST every 2 weeks. Good stuff.
Edgy- I usually DL to White Zombie or other angry loud music. For squats I prefer angry rappers like JMT, etc. And I am of Germanic heritage, not the blue eyed, blond type more the dark, hairy barbarians I guess?!
kmcnyc- Agreed, gua sha hurts! But it feels so good afterwards. Interesting note about mens’ jean. You guys still have it easier though because at least there is size standardization.
Last Stand- Thanks for explaining butts up. That game would never have been allowed in my Catholic grade school playground. Hopscotch, kickball, red rover, handball = yes. Something with ‘butt’ in the name = no. And yes, the GVT has been a success.
Nikkibaby- I’m sorta sad that the GVT is gonna be over soon ![]()
Lanels- The GVT is probably done later this week, maybe Thursday. Thanks for the well-wishing on my family. We can always use it. Everyone is fine for the moment…
Nadia- Glad that you like that pic and it opened the door for me to learn about butts up. I wonder if kids are allowed to play that now? I was SO FUCKING close to 100 reps on the bench. Another try on Thurs. Wish me luck.
Masch- Yup, acupuncture is AWESOME. I don’t know how I lived with out in for so many years. And ass pumps FTW. So cute that you thought of me while you did your KB swings
After some of the roman chair discussion a while back, I think of you every time I use one… LOL
Max- I think that it has been settled that deep squats = more ass. So, feel free to post a pic of yours in here if you want.
Deb- Thanks for stopping in… I think both of our asses could be presented as evidence regarding the squat debate. I probably put an inch on mine when I did GVT in the fall and again this time. Squat volume can’t help but do that, right? Only problem is that I have to keep buying new pants.
MiM- The Indian buffet was great yesterday, but my appetite was not. I can’t eat if I’m stressed. Not that I’m THAT stressed, but whatever. My day wasn’t really lazy but it was fun. I ended up moving furniture for my bestie. Getting the nursery ready. Yay! Her OB doesn’t want her lifting because of where her placenta is sitting right now.
Charlie- No, I’m a part time dog-sitter, so I was caring for one of my regulars: an old, deaf, sweet Irish Setter. My training sessions are usually about 1.5 hours. The GVT goes quickly though because the rest periods are short. I do 10 sets on the bench in maybe 20ish mins. I spend a while warming up and rest as long as I want between lifts. Also kinda take my time with accessories if I want. Stretching is done at home.
CBear- FWIW, quick 'n dirty snatch wax was done with the pre-waxed strips from the drug store. Usually I take my time and heat wax in the microwave, etc. Lots of finishing with tweezers. I just didn’t have time on Sat. Got the job done though. I have a lot of things in my car, heels are usually amongst the rest…

in the early 9th century, the Vikings ventured into what is today called Germany. We raped a few of the hairy barbarians, and must’ve procreated with them. Armed with that knowledge, I am now claiming you as one of us.
You may now pillage as you see fit.

Alright. 5 weeks of GVT, 139.8
Didn’t eat much over the weekend.
Minus a bf, for all intents and purposes!
This song totally reminds me of rocking out with my dad in his beastly Jeep Cherokee Laredo when I was a little kid. That thing was a tank, no A/C, holes in the floorboards.
RAWWWWR!
Tonight’s session was fueled by about 500 kcals of dark chocolate and hazelnuts, 2 shots of espresso, and sour grape humapro. Got to the gym really late because we had an emergency patient at the end of the night. Dude (former Marine, totally jacked) injured his back picking up a 70 lb DB and he’s getting married in a little over a week. Gotta get him fixed up for his wedding and, more importantly, his honeymoon.
Monday training, Lower GVT
Warmup: wall squats, spiderman crawls 4 x 10 each; Ready to rock!
Squat @ 140: 10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 8, 8, 10, 9, 9; 93 reps; Felt fucking amazing. Very balanced.
RDL @ 160: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 8, 9; 97 reps; Incredible-- once I go back to lower reps, the intensity is gonna be killer!
Home for single-malt and eating and stretching ![]()
Veggie: sorry to read about the boyfriend. I’m not a SAMA reader so I don’t know the story, but I’m glad you’re feeling okay about it. Nice training as always. You are most definitely wearing your GVT training well. And good luck with those 100 reps on bench on R! Killer.

hell yes. on all accounts.
Your arms are gorgeous in that pic!
hmm. i think i remember you saying something about how your boyfriend said that maybe you should stop squatting so much when you complained about having trouble buying pants. i worried about that at the time. pft. you are too good for him, i bet.
(more seriously, breakups suck. hang in there you.)
can you keep going with the GVT or are you going to move to a different program? sounds like (and indeed looks like) it has done good things for you. it is on my ‘one day’ list, i think. at some point i think i will take a month or so out from Oly Lifting and try and bulk up.
looking fabulous ![]()
