You have the classic X frame. You’d do well in competitions if you could stomach the dieting and all the bullshit that goes with it.

Sweet lateral delts!
I can’t comment on the other picture. Everything in my head belongs in SAMA.
nom nom nom foooood. and you are looking mighty fine, too ![]()
i’m ambivalent about indian desserts - but love everything else.
hope the receptionist is back at work soon and you have a great convention.

^ Exactly what I was thinking. Your delts and arms match the strong legs Veg, complete with nice tricep indentation, definition from shoulder down. Looking great! I said this to Nikki, it’s amazing how compact muscle is, and how meaningless scale weight becomes. We are close in height and you’re packin’ 25 more pounds of muscle, Nikki’s got 30 pounds on me I think. That’s just amazing that you could do that on such a small frame! Oh, and I like Indian food too. Yum.
Excellent news! The receptionist is back to work. She’s still rather tired, but recovering well. The best part… no office hours for me today (not really, but I did tape a couple people after the office meeting) which meant that I could lift during my preferred afternoon hours! SO GLAD that it worked out. Got a quick upper back and cervical adjustment and headed to the gym. I had an unbelievable session. Just awesome!
Legs/lower GVT
Warmup: wall squats, spiderman crawls 4x10 each
FS @ 120: 10, 10, 10, 9, 10, 9, 10, 10, 9, 10; 97 reps!
Realized once I got home that I unintentionally raised the weight. I did 96 @ 115 last time I did FS. Pretty pleased with my performance. Guess 120 is my new # for now.
RDL @ 150: 10 x 10; These felt so fan-FUCKING-tastic, particularly the 7th set. Guess it was 7th heaven short-term neural adaptation.
As I had mentioned over the weekend, I planned to squat in those crazy cheetah shorts. I did and I had a nice crowd. There is this group of guys who I know to be local firefighters that were doing those single-arm BB rows that you set up in the corner. The unofficial spot for that is right next to the squat racks. They’re cool, asked me about my training in the past, complimented me, etc. Respectful, but they got a killer show with the FS. Also some brothers doing T-bar rows behind me that appeared to be interested.
By the time I finished squatting I was totally out of breath so I laid on the floor. It was so nice and cool, probably filthy, but whatever. Set up the RDLs and realized that there was nobody else doing any leg training on that entire side of the weight room. Maybe I scared everybody off. Or maybe they were disgusted by my sweaty, overheated form by then. Don’t know. Anyhow, that made me feel like I wasn’t disturbing anyone while I did my RDLs and was noisy.
Lastly, I did some abs: floor wipers with a swiss ball and some Jandas. Pretty well spent by then so I took some humapro, bought some gatorade and went home.
Really, really great session. I’ll raise the RDL weight to 155 on Sunday. Very happy with the progress on lifts and size so far. My friend/boss’s wife was feeling me up at the office today. She had her hands all over my arms in envy. Summer is coming and there are plenty of skinny bitches down the shore… just doing my part to balance that out.
RDLs are FanTASStic ![]()
And your FS’s are making my legs hurt more than they already do!!
Veggie: Your enthusiasm for your training just jumps off the page. Awesome progress. And way to put on a show. Wish I could watch too!
That PWO single-malt routine is really what’s doing the work here, not the GVT ![]()
Can you post a picture of your brother’s dog?
I’m so happy to hear that you trained at your normal time! Glad it worked out for you.
Today was a kick-ass session indeed, you need to up the weight on BOTH the RDL and FS. I know you’ll have it in you to do at least 95 reps at 125# ;D
Lol at the skinny bitches comment. I’ll love to go to the beach with you to balance shit out but… yeah, you know how I feel about beaches haha
Matty- Thanks. Hard work and serious eating and sleeping are doing the trick.
MiM- Not sure what you see in my midsection, but I assume that its good. Thanks
Yup, my legs are beat. Been foam rolling and stretching tonight to try to ensure my ability to walk (somewhat) normally tomorrow. I <3 RDLs. One of my faves!
Cal- Yeah, don’t think physique competition is in my future. I like looking hot and wearing stripper shoes. But not the tans and stripped down to single-digit bf thing. I really like having tits too much for that. I already am pretty pec heavy, you know what I mean? Lastly, I love to eat and could never put myself through the crazy diets that are required.
alexus- What’s your hesitation with the Indian desserts? They are delicious. Is it because they have so much dairy and sugar (inflammation central)? The receptionist is back as of Monday. Yay! Convention will be great, but I may fall asleep. I have to do my bench/shoulder session on Fri night after a full day at the office. Not sure how this week is going to play out, but I will adjust accordingly if necessary.
git- Thanks for stopping in! I had my arms and shoulders molested by another woman today. The delt action is inspiring weird behaviour by my friends!
puff- Believe it or not I was 20+ lbs lighter this time last year. Much more slender, but still with a lot of muscular definition. Maybe I’ll post an old pic for some comparison. If I lift heavier I get big and thick. Genetically predisposed I guess. Scale weight is a joke for women like us. Not a very informative measure of anything really IMHO.
Nadia- I am quite enthusiastic about this program. Having a lot of fun and seeing results. Win-win! The performer in me comes out with the commercial gym lifting environment sometimes. Guess it is the old cheerleader mentality that that likes to put on a show and move to get noticed. But I don’t do the smiling when I lift, other much less attractive facial expressions come to mind.
Ponce- Very funny. As a general rule, I do not drink and lift. Not saying that it has NEVER happened, but not in years. The semester that I took OChem 1 was rough, night class, working full-time. I used to take a couple shots between school and the gym once in a while just to take the edge off. I’d be lifting at like 10 pm on Mon night with a buzz. Not recommended. Seemed like a good idea at the time though. Not the greatest pic, but I’ll post one of my bro’s dog with my cat. Only one I have on my phone.
Dog and cat, best buds in a Tom & Jerry sort of way!
Nikki- You snuck in there while I was writing. You’re probably right about the FS, we’ll see. And I bet you’d make an exception and hit the beach with me if the opportunity presented itself!
You’re damn right.
I guess I’m tired, I forgot to add that part in.
Damn, woman!! I’m now all hyped up to get my squats and push-presses in today! And you+beach=YES!!! Awesome work in here…
…What Beast seid!! WORD!! You just got me all hyped up to go too!! GRRRRRR!!
HOLY MOSES!! You look fantastic! oh! Are you and Nikki having an BB arm vicarious workout attack? I should join! I officially join-- my arms would thank you. How long are you going to GVT it? MMM!!!

haha i can’t believe that you ‘accidentally’ put more weight on the bar than you were supposed to. great work. totally unbelievable volume from my point of view. i bet the guys are giving you some distance because they don’t want you to stop what you are doing because of their staring or drooling. they are probably trying to be subtle lol.
the only indian desserts i’ve tried haven’t been very sweet and i like my desserts sweet. maybe i’ve just been trying the wrong ones…
sigh You’re working very hard right now aren’t you?
I hope not. I hope things sorted out and you’re training right now, doing GVT back and walking into rooms sideways because that’s the only way you’ll get through.
MUAH
I got home, had my dinner, after doing legs, and I want moar after reading this and seeing the GVT pics. Veggie, I don’t think you have blood in your veins, me thinks it’s hydraulic fluid. Great shit !
Can somebody please tell me who the hell picks commercial gym music? They play the weirdest shit ever! If I hear that song about ‘doing it in the backseat’ one more time I’m going to have to break something or throw up or I don’t know… bitch and complain. Thankfully we have iPods. Seriously, most of the stuff that they play is straight garbage. Pure noise pollution.
Alright, worked 10 hours today. Managed a one hour nap during siesta/lunch time. Saw a bunch of patients and did a TON of manual therapy today. Generally I use tools when I can, but oh no, not for the today’s crowd. Lots of headaches and such which required my skillful hands for direct therapy. Its cool, but fatigue set in a bit near the end of my session particularly in my right wrist.
Made it to the gym at about 9:15 pm. Late, but at least the place is clearing out by then. Ran into a patient on my way in and she was floored that I was just coming from the office. My schedule is wacky, but I’m completely off tomorrow: rest day with afternoon acupuncture… can’t wait to go get stuck full of needles! I love that stuff so much. So great for my recovery after a long workday that was capped with an intense GVT session.
Training: Back/Triceps GVT
Warmup: some mobility stuff and pullaparts with resistance tubing, very brief because I’m really loose after work and it was late
Pendlay rows @ 93: 10, 10, 9, 9, 7, 8, 8, 7, 8, 8; 84 reps by my mental arithmetic
Some big dude caught my attention in a mirror in between sets and gave me the thumbs up, said “Man, those are really hard. Nice job!” Happy to be recognized for kicking ass by a guy that looked pretty hard-core/no bs.
BB standing OH triceps extensions @ 63: 10, 10, 9, 9, 8, 8, 8, 8, 7, 9; 86 reps
During those some youngish guy in a Mets hat was doing various mobility drills, db stuff, working on his pitching motion, etc. asked me if I was a cop!?! I said no, but after I finished up I went over to ask him why he would think that. He said, “Well, you WERE lifting pretty heavy there.” What he didn’t say but I bet he thought was “You look kinda butch in your baggy sweatpants and wife-beater.” Oh well. My gym attire runs the full spectrum, what can I say!
After I finished the main lifts I went over to the roman chair with the intention of doing pullups and dips. I did some singles, but I have a ropey spot along the right side of my mid-back that was being bitchy… a product of my work no doubt and my right wrist was not happy. That’s all good because I will be renewed by the acupuncturist tomorrow. She always puts me back together and balances my stubborn chi.
Accessory work: Cable rope pressdowns 4 or 5 sets, cable javelin throw extensions 3 sets each side
DONE. Came home, poured a glass of single-malt. Eating quiche and a ton of other stuff for the next couple of hours.
I ate a bunch of stuff in the closet at the office today: 3 hard-boiled eggs, a bunch of raspberries, a bunch of almonds, a banana, a blood orange, a bag of raw spinach, few handfuls of pepitas, dozen or so yuppie crackers, dark chocolate with hazelnuts. It was a busy day, so every time I had a free minute I stuffed something in my mouth. Been taking the humapro and I think it helps a lot with recovery/decreased doms.
I felt really great besides the obvious over-use stuff that is purely occupational in nature. Another great session. Looking forward to rest, recovery eating and sunshine (I HOPE!) tomorrow.
what’s humapro?
great session is right! DAMMM!
