
I was actually wearing this shirt earlier and I took it off and put on a sport bra top for the gym. My though was, “Nah, the Sunday night crowd doesn’t deserve this shirt.” WRONG! Shoulda worn it tonight. Three people wove in front of me while I was doing OH carries. Everyone was in mosey along mode! WTF?!!! Numerous other acts of stupidity were witnessed. Not going to spell it all out because it is too fucking pathetic. Needless to say, I was in no mood. Thank God nobody tried to talk to me.
Chest/shoulders
Warmup: shoulder mobility stuff w/resistance tubing, bradford presses w/bar, incline pushups on the bench
BP: 1x5x65, 1x5x85, 1x5x95, 1x5x100, 2x3x105 (Not feeling my bench AT ALL tonight. It is my worst lift and I really don’t even like to bench. Trying to turn my attitude around but tonight was not the night. Gonna go work with the coach on this pretty soon. I need it.)
DB incline presses: got set up and then said, “Fuck it.” Just not in a benchin’ mood.
Since I am an admitted pushup whore and like doing them in variations and circuits/giant sets, I set up a little circuit in the group fitness room. Someone had left a step with 7 risers in there. Perfect.
Giant set x 5- decline med ball pushup/ db one-arm mp w/30, hershey kiss pushup/ resistance tubing pullapart:
10/8 each side/10/12; 10/6 each side/10/12; 10/6 each side/8/12; 10/6 each side/10/12; 10/6 each side/9/12
Felt sufficiently hot, sweaty, breathless, and generally accomplished after that. Moved on to some more shoulder stuff.
Upright rows: 3x8x70
DB carries- waiters’ walk: 2 x ~250 ft x 45 lb each side, cross-carry 1 x ~250 ft x 40’s each side
Wide-grip pullups: 5, 4, 5, 5 (Finally made the effort to do them on the pullup handles at the cable station. Nice, much more comfortable.)
Lastly, more pushups: 12, 10, 12, 16 (Had to make it an even 50. Kinda OCD about that stuff sometimes. LOL.)
I was spent, took some post-training stuff and headed to the grocery. Then there was a mini-fiasco concerning some organic blueberries. All worked out well though. Today was a weird friggin’ day. Keeps life interesting.
Think I’m sabotaging my bench by hitting my triceps so hard the day before. I’m close to starting a new program: GVT. After I run that I will be sure to plan at least one day between tri’s and bench. Or maybe I’ll switch up my splits. Things to ponder…
