FINALLY GAINING!!

Fellow T-men,
I’m finally starting to put on a few pounds and with not noticable fat gain. I’m at 146 up from 135. And i’m only 5’8 by the way. One thing i’ve noticed though is people tell me all the time that i look bigger than people that weigh more than i do, which is kinda weird but i’m all for it. But anyway i wanna say thanks to anybody thats ever given me advice. I’ve really zeroed in on my diet. I probably don’t eat as good as i should, but i have a superfast metabolism, so i can almost eat anything i want right now. I eat anywhere from 3 to 4 meals in the dining hall at school (unlimited meal plan), i try to stick to either mostly protein and fat or protein and carbs depending on what time of day and whether its post or pre workout. Post workout i always have a shake with 25 grams of whey protein, 100 grams of carbs from twinlab ultra fuel, and 5 grams of creatine. And after 7:30 when the dining hall closes i drink two protein shakes. Both useing Lean Mass Matrix Protein Compenent from, and one of the shakes i use ultra fuel again to provide 100 carbs, and the second shake is before bed so i used milk. But i figured out one thing, protein compenent from prolab contains a skinny mans best friend, CASEIN AND MICELLULAR CASEIN!!! Slow digesting proteins are a skinny mans best friend, gotta lovem. The only bad thing is i’ve had an ankle and thumb injury, so i’ve had to do the worst thing imagineable, USE MACHINES!!! But good news is the injuries are healing well and i’ll be back to the iron quickly.

How much of the weight you gained is LBM rather than water retention from creatine?

what were your total calorie intakes for the day? how about estimated overall protein, carb and fats?

ive been trying to gain, but it doesnt seem to be working. Im about the same as you started, 5-8 130. ive upped my volume of eating, but i think im eating too clean, with lite this and low fat that. I actually lost a pound over a week. And i think my body is rejecting all this food, because i dont feel so well. I took in around 3000cal a day for a week. I did lifts 3x a week and bballed twice. Which may be the culprit, but i have to be able to lift and ball. its the only fun i get in school.

what are some main foods you eat? I get most of my cals from my protein shake, consisting of 1cup 2% milk, about 1/2 cup oatmeal, 2Tbspn nat pb, 3Tbspn cottage cheese, ON whey, 2 scoops fat free frozen yogurt, and a banana. giving me approx 740 cals, fat 19.2 Carbs 93, protein 55. I usually down this after lifting.
