Female Trying to bodybuild! Would LOVE Some Help

Hi everyone!

So right now I have been training steadily for almost four years. I’ve been intensely weight training, regularly, for almost a year, and have made some huge progress and strength gains.
I’m 5’6, about 155lbs - bench 95lbs; deadlift 130lbs; squat 180lbs

At this point I am just about to wrap up my current routine and am very pleased with the progress I’ve made. However, I want to get more into the bodybuilding side of things, and continue to build as much muscle as possible.
I aim to compete in the Arnold classic for March 2012 so I am ready to work hard!

I’m just not sure where to go from here in terms of designing a new workout plan/nutrition regiment.

Suggestions would be so so appreciated.

Like I said - I am not afraid to go hard and lift heavy, and I’m ready to do whatever it takes to get where I want to be!

Help please!

If competition is in your future plans, than you need to step back a moment, assess what yoru strengths and weaknesses are, and design a program around bringing them up to par with the other girls you’ll be standing next to onstage. BEfore my first show, I looked at every pic of competitors I could find who were similar to me in height and structure.

Get a coach.

A couple of things:

  1. Welcome!
  2. Follow the nutrition advice Stronhold posted in that thread. He won’t steer you wrong.
  3. Get over to the Powerful Women forum. There aren’t too many over there into figure/bb, but most lift heavy, some are very knowledgeable, and all of them are supportive.
  4. Good luck!

Thank you very much! I will do just that
