With so many different training programs available here I thought I would start one thread for anyone to give feedback, comments, results, etc. on those programs that they have tried. Post away! (not sure if this has been done b4)
The two latest with great results were JB’s “Creation of a T-man”, and CW’s “ABBH”. They are both great in my opinion. But all the programs are damn good, and have there place.
Make sure your diet is in tune or no program will give the results they should.

5x5 all the way baby! whenever i’m bulking i base my programs around this and i grow.
If you’re an athlete try CT’s Canadian Ascending Descending program…it’s fun…Actually I don’t know if it was an article or just posted on the forum.
Posted on the forum and available in his book. I agree it’s awesome from what I have done from it. For some reason, I feel way better after a training session that mixes slow speed strength, strength-speed, speed-strength, and shock exercises in one day instead of on separate days.
OVT was/is my favorite, although ABBH rocked too. ABBH gave me a little more strength, but OVT seemed better for hypertrophy.
ARE U KIDDING ME? We get 300posts on what TVixen is the hottest and 5 about which TMag training program is your favorite, what your results have been, etc. I was hoping for some feedback as well as some good old-fashioned debate, flaming, name-calling, etc. EXAMPLE: “DUDE CT IS WAY COOLER THAN WATERBURY!” etc.
CT is definitely my favorite t-guy…bump to what fat panda said about feeling great after workouts involving speed…something about throwing shit just makes me happy…
heavy weights are so depressing, literally, a nice med ball blasted into a wall just makes me smile
I’ve been looking at OVT but it scares the crap out of me. OVT looks very different from the others in that it looks like each workout would take like an hour and a half and also the volume is like nothing I’ve seen here before. How long did each OVT workout take you guys? The ABBH, BBBasics, and Ian King workouts I’ve been doing over the last year or so have generally been taking me 45minutes max often less. Wasn’t OVT a big shock for you guys? How did you handle it?
When doing ABBH, what kind of cardio should I do? The off days or on the training days? More or less?
Travis that depends on your goals. But generally I would say off days and whatever cardio that doesnt totally bore the hell out of you. Whichever type you will do. I switch it up between HIIT, moderate steadystate, and GPP work.
I did Ian Kings workouts to start with. Got very good results with them, mainly due to training properly and paying attention to diet.
I then went on to try many different programs including HST, OVT, 5x5 etc…
I’m now doing Westside and am very much into powerlifting. I can’t see me changing from Westside now…
Cheers

I’m into week 6 of “Training for Maximal Size” (which was posted here on my birthday - June 27th), and I’m enjoying it, though it’ll be my first time ever completing a planned work out program (before, I would usually do the first 4 weeks, get bored or anxious about new movements, and switch to a new program).
It’s also the first time I’ve been watching my diet, and the first time I’ve ever gone 5 months without drinking (and I drank a LOT), and it’s the first time I’ve ever used squats, chin-ups and deadlifts with any regularity so, obviously, I’ve been seeing GREAT progress with Maximal Size. I have a hard time seeing this, but a friend tells me that my back, especially, is showing huge improvement.
What I like most about it is the fact that there are so few movements, and that I only spend about 45 minutes to an hour in the gym, but I still feel like I put in some good work.
I have many:
I just finish Quattro Dynamo (can’t wait to try again in a few weeks)
ABBH (current)
Training for Maximal Size (awesome)
5x5
OVT (awesome)
Tried 12 weeks to Maximal Size. It was a fun workout, but I found that my arms lacked the growth that the rest of my body gained. This was the first progrma I tried after coming down from 210 to about 165/170. Took a long time.
During the fat loss aspect, I started using beginner programs found on Men’s health. Learnt about HIIT, TUT, and tempo readings which was great. When I got down to the low numbers I found it increasingly more difficult for me to lose body fat and keep muscle. I now know that I cut for way too long with probably way too little calories and I was in a fight with my body constantly to try to view some ab muscles.
I basically did this because I missed the growth window right before summer and then didn’t want to try gaining over the summer ‘shirt off months.’ The last two programs I used for fat loss were Turbulence Training by a Canadian Strength coach out of MacMaster University: Craig Ballentyne (Sp?). This was as meltdown style circuit training and was hard as hell. It did work well for me though as I noticed getting a bit leaner in the mid section. I then took a slight break and then did Fat to Fire. I have to say that for some reason the Fat to Fire did a better job at losing fat while not following a T-dawg style carbohydrate restriction. I ate 175 gm of carbs a day regarless and it worked better for me than the 100-70 breakdown. Plus I felt about 600% better in the gym and after. No flatness and moderate strength.
So I would have to say that my fav fat loss is Fat to Fire. Its fun, hard, and effective. “No sissies allowed”
When I bulked as I stated I used maximal size. Had great gains in the legs, chest and decent in the back. Lacked tricep development greatly. Don’t know why? Just how it happened.
Then found OVT…
Probably the most fun I have had in a work out since I have begun. 1 3/4 yrs. It is by far my most favour program. I have seen better gains in all areas than maximal size. This sis a 5x5 program and I gained 1 inch in the arms, 1/2 inch on the legs at bottom, more defined Teardrop on the wheels.
The next great thing about OVT is the strength gains. WOW. It is such a motivating feeling to see the numbers go up each week, and the feeling of being strong is a great mental boost as well.
As far as the gains go, I think they are attributed to the constant drive to increase strength coupled with the increased volume. I am in the third week of the second segment of the program and will evaluate the progress again and hopefully update is this thread is still up near the top.

3rd week of ovt and and after 4 weeks i will take a break and begin Quattro dynamo for 3 weeks.
OVT is hard and intense, especially doing squats and deads on the same day, fucking painful!!!, but worth it
size wise, very impressive i have seen gains everyhwere. a session usually takes me around an hour give or take 5 mins. i will post results when i have finished both programs
been doing CT’s CAD training, liked it a helluva lot, but I am looking to change to a more westside based program to help out my weak points more.
The WSB/Darkside have been the most effective for me. I like CT’s articles and ideas the only program of CT’s I’ve used all the wat through are the running man cycles and abs for athletes, murder.
I use many of CT’s concepts in my Darkside based cycles. I really like training this way (Dark side) because it allows so much flexibility which keeps me from getting bored. I get bored easily.
I like the pendulum idea but have not tried it yet.
Did OVT this summer, had good strength gains and decent size gains while staying fairly lean.
Looks like the winners are OVT and Anti Bodybuilding so far.
