that is a great replay ^^^
jsneves you are crazy with the no ground game bullshit. almost as good as your triple thread in the BB forum.
the only thing hindering Fedor is that he’s a small heavyweight at 230lbs. i do see Brock controlling him from the top however that right hand will put anyone out it’s so quick.

Well…if you watch, not only did Fedor connect with that punch…he also slipped Rogers’ hook. And at the same time,he using his body as if he’s attempting to do some kind of leg sweep/trip.
Because of the way Rogers’ body turns after the punch, that is somewhat negated, but Fedor still manages to shift his bodyweight into Rogers’ and knock him off-balance. Transitions…and all in the same sequence. Fedor is the best at it…GSP is a very close second, imo…and Machida has some nice transitions with his strikes and foot-sweeps. Mousasi is starting to show the same abilities.
Transitioning like that is going be a big component in the future of how fighters train for MMA. Anyone that can put all the disciplines together and flow effortlessly from one to another is going to murder those who cannot.

Ok, that was my first reaction but then I thought you were talking about something else… I thought way to far into it, was trying to look at different advertisements etc… its late

I really wanted you to see the outline of Rasputin controlling Fedor like a puppet.
LOL…yeah, man…I’m just talking about that whole sequence. Mousasi actually pulled that move off on Mark Hunt. He threw a right hand and flowed right into leg tripping him.
Big_Boss wrote:
Was Fedor talking about a rematch or did Rogers pull that out of his ass???
OH…and did anyone notice Rasputin in Fedor’s entourage??
I swear in the post fight interview the translator said something about if Rogers wants a rematch it is fine by him. It came as a surprise as the guy that just knocked someone out like that in the second round seldom looks for a rematch.

I was thinking the same thing about Rasputin(s)… I didn’t know he had two though…
You’re right about the transitions thing. I watched the fight again at home; Fedor had a sequence in the 1st round go from punches, tie up, hip throw to single leg takedown. Non stop flow.
Kind of a scary first round though.
All day Fedor, all day.
Rogers did land a good shot on Fedor’s nose at the beginning of the fight and had it bleeding pretty good. At least Rogers did something that Fedor’s last five opponents didn’t do: make it to the second round.
I don’t remember if Rogers kept his hands low the whole fight, but I noticed in the clip Boss posted that Rogers dipped his hands to his stomach for a couple of seconds. Fedor saw this and capitalized, along with ducking Rogers’ punch.
Pretty much everyone Fedor has fought has been bigger, faster, stronger, taller, heavier, etc., but Fedor has the ultimate mind power and has won every time.
Didn’t expect Verdum to decision Silva. Was thinking the opposite before the fight. Shields/Miller was pretty lackluster. Mousasi looked good v. Sokoudjou. I think if Sokoudjou got into a better camp and could find someone who could make him a better fighter, he would be much better off. He has too much talent for him to lose all the time.

That was in response to that foo,Gus Johnson, asking him about a rematch…pretty much before even congratulating Fedor. Of course Fedor wasn’t going to say “NO,chocolate-face.”
Fedor taking about 5 hard, consecutive shots right in the face at about 4 mins in and not even slightly flinching( and probably with a broken nose) is Rambo/Chuck Norris type shit

I don’t know what is up with Sokoudjou…it never fails for him to gas(or give up) in the 2nd round. Maybe the dude is mentally-weak when faced against a formidable opponent. Almost makes me laugh how dominant he acted against even-mentally weaker Bob Sapp. I just don’t get it with him.

Yep,woulda…coulda…shoulda…well you didn’t. I can imagine any loss is hard…more so your first. But I think he could have given credit to Fedor. That doesn’t mean he should suck up to him either.
I’m no big fan of interviewing the losers directly after a fight to begin with. It annoys me and comes off as disrespectful to them most of the time.
Just like interviewing losing football coaches at half-time.

My brother met Gus Johnson one time at an event. My brother asked him about what he does:
My brother: Hey Gus Johnson, nice to meet you. How does someone break into broadcasting?
Gus: it’s a long story
Weak
Anyone else take their shirt off and spin it above their head while pouring their drink on themselves when fedor won?
Just me?
That’s koo

lol. Well,I immediately ordered a how to speak Russian DVD…and two mail-order Russian brides.
The mark of an MMA champion…you don’t have to learn english!
Man, good fight!
Fedor’s mind is a fukn fortress. When Rogers said he was making mistakes or could have done better, this was due a) a bit o’ gassing and b) cause Fedor’s didn’t show pain or weakness.
Rogers impressed me though.
Rogers impressed me too, but only in that he managed to take it into the second round. I certainly don’t think he did anything to warrant a rematch - maybe if they both win their next 3 or 4 fights but until that happens, no chance.
I watched the fight live last night, then watched it again this morning and on second viewing, Fedor seemed to be in much more control than I thought at the time. Sure he got caught with a stiff jab at the start and took a few hard shots on the floor but he never looked close to being rocked like he was against Fujita or backed up like against Arlovski.
As for his ground game? Besides the attempted Kimuras, the arm bar attempt and the arm triangle, it looked shit ![]()
i liked the strikeforce card. Mousasi is for real man. Sokoudjo looked good in the first round but something with his mind seems to be wrong. this fighter has every tools and he looses every important fight. thats just sad.
Fedor is an unbelievable phenom. How can he keep his composure when he gets ground and pounded by such a big dude? Although Rogers impressed me a little bit because of his improvement. fedor was completeley in control.
Another nice work by the king of mma.

They were thrown hard, but only two landed well enough to deliver any of that power. All but one other were basically whiffs. Still, to eat those two and the jab that busted his nose is no small feat.
I watched the fight live and thought “wow, this is closer than I thought it was going to be.” But then when I watched the replay from my DVR twice more…the second time in slow motion going back and forth around the action, I saw that Fedor EASILY won this fight. The only damage he really inflicted at all was busting his nose with that one punch. Fedor slipped nearly everything else.
