seems to be not much discussion on this one even thought its on for free this Saturday
Mousasi vs Sokoudjou
Jake Shields vs Jason ¢??Mayhem¢?? Miller
Fedor Emelianenko vs Brett Rogers
these three are interesting…the rest Meh…
there is also Silva vs Werdum
and a Jeff Curran fight.
Mousassi Dude neve even looks awake, yet always brings it.
He takes this one, unless Sokoujou gets his crap together, and surprises us
I like Shields for this one, Is he Big enough to be a middle weight?
Miller is crazy but Shields is the better grappler all around.
What to say about the Fedor Fight
Roger is Big enough and game enough but is he skilled enough for an upset?
can he go past 3 minutes?
Fedor takes this but prob looks bad for a few minutes.
I know Brett… I guess his conditioning is insane right now, I think he will be able to go through the whole fight, but I don’t think he’ll beat fedor. I was training @ the same place as Brett, though, and his coach isn’t very good.
I think Fedor is gonna drop Brett faster than he dropped Arlovski.
Silva vs Werdum looks like a ground fight for the most part. I’m gonna go with the new guy.
Curran vs Dustin Neace looks like a slaughter. Curran wont even have to use his jitz on him. Curran’s boxing is full of awesome.
I dont really follow the other fighters so no telling how they’ll turn out, hopefully good for strikeforce’s sake and there is also a girl fight on the under card. I dont know anything about the fighters, but its always fun to watch girls go at it.

If his coach isn’t very good than that speaks for his natural ability. I’ve only seen three of his fights but he’s really impressed me with his aggressiveness and accuracy. He seems to spot openings immediately and reacts with laser beam heat. I don’t think he’ll beat Fedor but wouldn’t be that surprised if he shocked the world.
Fedor - Rogers will definitely try to push the pace, and may land some good shots on Fedor, but in the end, Fedor will be too much for Rogers and will probably submit him.
I always hope for Fedor to win. But I won’t be surprised when he loses. It’s bound to happen sometime and I think a lot of the pressure and mystique would be off if it ever does. Mostly I’m just afraid if he loses to a guy like Rogers, everyone will say he was overrated and didn’t have much of a legacy. That’s really my concern with Fedor. Whenever he fights now, it seems he has everything to lose and his opponent has everything to gain. And… unlike Mayweather, it’s not like his defense is out of this world or he’s fighting guys 10% smaller.
Mousasi and Sokoudjou should be an exciting fight. I really like both guys. Sokoudjou is a guy with such phenomenal talent that it’s always a disappointment when he can’t deliver. When you watch him fight, you can see his ridiculous explosive power and awesome judo skills. Yet he often seems like he can’t get himself out of bad positions. Anyway, Mousasi by being more Milhouse than Kenflo.
I hate this fight. I hate it. Rogers has the physical tools ( read: reach and power) to land a shot hard enough to get a win over Fedor…and it proves NOTHING. Fedor would still be the better fighter.
REALLY excited about this card. Anytime watching Fedor fight is a treat.
Mousasi is one of my favorite fighters. He’s so laid back then just walks out and does what he needs. Very Fedor-esq. I just hope they don’t “stand and bang”.

Its a no win situation for both guys.[/quote]
Agree with the first statement. The “no win” statement couldn’t be more wrong. Rogers has so much to win. Fedor has lots to lose and little to gain. If Rogers looks good against Fedor, but loses anyway…that is a huge victory for him. He has a puncher’s chance and if he lands a bomb, and “shocks the world” it will be a huge WIN! Only Fedor has much to lose. If he is not impressive, but does just enough to win anyway he’ll be judged harshly. Only a dominating performance will help Fedor. A mere win is almost nothing considering how lightly regarded Rogers is. That said, I’m looking for Fedor to be his impressive, dominant self.
In the Showtime FightCamp, I find it interesting when Fedor says fighting is not a passion, it’s a job and he just want to get in and get it done as fast as possible. But this guy competes in combat Sambo regularly for no money and no fame. I wonder what really is Fedor’s state of mind. He has something incredible in him just like Anderson Silva. Yet, he has no interest in giving himself an identity of a fighter. He just doesn’t seem to even talk about fighting really. He simply fights and is detached to being a fighter. I hope he wins so he can continue with this mystique about him, so down the road, if we’re lucky enough, we get to see him actually fighting the best heavyweight in the world (whoever it may be).

Accuracy? He threw 6 looping punches that missed before he clipped Arlovskis’ crystal chin. He bullrushed Arlovski with hands down and chin out swinging wildly before he connected. If he comes at Fedor like that he will be in dreamland before anyone knows it, or on his back being pounded out.
Maybe a little bit of an early stoppage but it’s hard to tell unless you are the referee. Brett’s eyes could have rolled back in his head which is something we couldn’t see. Even so I think he was rocked enough to where Fedor would have done more damage from the top or just submitted him.
Brett looked pretty good and did some nice damage to Fedor early but still couldn’t put him out even when in the top position. Just something to be even more impressed by Fedor. By the way, has Fedor ever fought in a cage? If not, just one more impressive attribute.
One thing I wasn’t impressed with was Brett’s comments after the fight. Came off like a complete asshole and showed no respect for Fedor. What a fuckin’ baby!
When you watch the replay, Rogers is still covering up AFTER Big John has ended the fight… Roger’s had no clue where he was. Good stoppage. Good fight too. I think if Rogers had not gassed a bit in the first he may have won.
