From the name “Teela” an idea was spawned, an Idea of epic proportions.insert wicked guitar solo
An Idea so profound that it has nothing to do with this post at all!!! But worry not faithful readers, for it is time to discuss those follies of animated adventurers. Yes that’s right, this is a post about CARTOONS!!! insert even more wickeder guitar solo!!
Okay, so anyways, He-Man was by far one of the all-time best cartoons ever. It had everything a good cartoon needs. Action, suspense, bad plots, a guy with blue skin and a skull for a head… IT’S MARKETING GOLD I TELLS YA!!!
ahem.
I may be a bit biased because He-Man was my hero (A T-man in training even when I was a child) and even though after 3 years of animation school I realise that the quality of animation wasn’t quite… how shall I put this… good. He-Man still remains an all time Fav of mine.
Another is Astro-boy, but he is much more of a rarity than He-Man.
He-Man was with out a doubt my favorite character in the show as well, I mean I wasn’t all that attracted to girls when I was 5 and although Man-At-Arms did have cool gadgetry and fur shorts, he just couldn’t compare to a muscle bound He-Man.
I will leave this open to you all now, because if I don’t I could ramble on for days about cartoons.
I watched He-Man when i was a kid. I learned a lot.
Some might say that Teela and Prince Adam (He-Man's alter ego) were just friends. But i remember the show. They were not just friends. There was something going on.
Teela was smoking hot. She was athletic and limber, and could hold her own in a fight. But I remember when Adam held aloft his sword to become He-Man, she would stare as if mesmerized.
In one episode, He-Man and Teela were even flirting at the end. And since the show was only a half-hour (22 minutes w/o commercials), then probably some stuff happened after that they didn’t have time to show.
I also thought it interesting that the Sorceress (the other hot chick on the show) was revealed in one episode to be Teela’s mother.
And in many episodes He-Man would go to the Sorceress for advice. It was like he was always learning something new from her, and whenever there was something that he didn’t know about, then he would say, “I have to go see the sorceress.”
My theory is that He-Man was pretty much into his work, and didn't let himself be distracted by that fine piece of ass that was Teela. That was, until she started flirting with him.
After that, he took her behind the palace and showed her why they called him one of the “Masters of the Universe.”
Sup is on the money: Family Guy was the best ever. I don’t think there has ever been a character as cool as Stewie. BTW, it was obvious the writers took many drugs.
Also, Southpark and the Simpsons are obviously classics.
For late 70s/80s cheese, you can’t top the Super Friends.
Is there anybody that doesn’t love the old Bugs Bunny. I swear I remember every episode. I know all the tunes the Singing Frog sang, all of the Magic words Bugs says to Dracula when he confronts him (like Abra-capocus!) And who can forget that most famous of Canadian’s who made his acting debut …Black Jauques Shellac!!!
MAN!!! I Completly forgot aboot (Canadian spelling) Herc!! Good old Newton always getting captured by Deadilus, and Toot always playing those pan flutes for some stupid reason.
AND DAMMIT ACE JUST BECAUSE PRINCE ADAM WORE PURPLE PANTS AND A HUGE DISCO SHIRT IT DOESN’T MAKE HIM GAY!!! He was an individual.
man I like all the cartoons that have been brought up so far… Family Guy rules, and so does spongebob.
Has anyone seen Aqua Teen Hunger Force? it is odd, but after a few episodes you can really get into it.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force is pure genius. One of the funniest shows I have ever followed. I have the meatwad t-shirt that says “I’m gonna get tore up!”
The Brak Show is hilarious as well.
Most of the stuff on Adult Swim is fucking great.
But I’d have to say my all time favorite show is The Simpsons, with Family Guy right behind. I think Family is funnier on an episode-by-episode basis, but since there have been sooo many more Simpsons than FGs, I’d have to vote the Simpsons ahead of it. But they are both classic.
The best news I’ve heard in a long time is that they are paying the writers to compose at least three new seasons of Family Guy. Supposed to be the same people I believe.
BB-hehe, let’s just hope they aren’t clean for the new seasons.
