Wow, we’ve got a new FF crew. Welcome guys. And BTW - having to pee a ton is normal. It’s because this diet is a diuretic and you are losing stored water. I think some guys were using methloxy-7 and tribex to keep from losing muscle. I just upped my calories a bit, since I can’t use andro. I haven’t lost any muscle yet (using calipers to make sure). My lean mass is still 133 lbs. Day 2 of 28 (my second round)
Day 3:- Down 3 pounds already I had almost forgotten how fast coming the results were on this diet.Oh by the way welcome all the new Fat Fasters this is my second time on it so I can asure you even though it is hard it’s bloody worth it.Ironbabe how much you wanting to loose this time around? Tone what about you how much is left till you reach your target? Has anyone been experimenting with Pavel’s ideas? I have , and have been doing the 20 sets of 5 reps which if you think about it is almost the same idea as German Volume Training only using heavier weights,so i suppose it is quite intense but i feel it is more benefical than aerobics and i have noted another positive side effect , I am not as sore the day after these workouts even though i have fully taxed the muscle.One last thing If you don’t have to use supplements to get great results on this diet i done it for 26 days the last time and lost 19 lbs of fat and only 1lb of muscle,but i would recommend a carb up every 6 days if you are doing it without supplements.Good luck to all and hang on in there.
5-7 lbs I think. That will get me more lean than I want to be (11%, when I want 12%), but will give me some room for error as I get back into eating carbs. I’m losing slower than most people since my calories are a higher percent than you guys. I won’t go half my RMR without norandro - so I’m eating 1300 cal when my BMR is 1800. It probably won’t take me 28 days, but I gotta shoot for something. In 30 days I’ll be on the beach so I’ve got great motivation. Since I’ve started eating mostly liquid protein and flax caps, my fat loss has been more evident.
Ironbabe and others did you find that while on the Fat Fast you got sick I don’t mean like cold or flue but throwing up, my first attempt at it in week three i got real sick couldn’t eat much for 2 days and was sick all the time like 8-9 times a day,so i did a two day carb up and was fine after that any ideas on why this was ?
Hi Fat Fasters–I have also been lurking for a while. I have now been on the fat fast for about 19 days. I have been following the Anabolic Diet (Eat Like a Man) for about nine months, and had entered the fat loss stage, losing about 1 to 2 pounds a week. I realized at that point that it didn’t seem much different from the fat fast, if I cut out the weekend carb up. So I started at about 187 pounds, did a week-long carb up and cleared as many substances out of my system as I could in a week (no caffeine, alcohol, supps, etc.) After the carb load I was 192 pounds to start on a Wednesday. By that Sunday, I was back to 187, which I consider my starting weight. On my last weigh-in, I was down to about 177. I would like to reach about 162 so that after I resume carbs I should be about 165 to 168 pounds. I started out eating about 1300 calories, immediately realized that was too much for me compared to Brock’s stats, so I dropped to about 1200 calories. I have been using a kitchen sink approach to supplementation, using Androsol, Methoxy-7, MD-6 (six a day), plus my usual ZMA and Tribex. After about 14 days on the diet, I again dropped calories to about 1000 calories a day, and increased Androsol usage from 35 x 2 to 60 x 2 a day. I have been following Ian King’s Great Guns program and Advanced Leg Training simultaneously. I can’t really tell if I am losing strength due to the periodization schedules used, but on the legs program I am continuing to establish new best lifts. I am a newby to leg training, though, so some of that is neurological learning and just plain technique improvement. My grip strength in deadlifting is definitely still increasing, though. Still here! Day 16 of scheduled 30. Lost about 15 lbs so far. Would like to lose another 15 by fast end. Then 5-10 more over the summer. No carb cravings or cravings of any kind, for that matter. I am actually turned off by chocolate for the first time in my life. Even the smell of my kids’ Easter eggs made me nauseous. I was just telling a friend this morning that after this fast, it will be quite a while until I down another chocolate shake. So far, I have been doing 2 whole foods meals per week (my body tells me when I’m ready). For training, I’m following one of Ian King’s programs from How To Write. I would have prefered to do the Get Buffed program, but was afraid it would kill me while on the fast. I will start “Get Buffed” in June. As for Pavel’s ideas, I plan to make myself some make-shift kettlebell handles from an old triceps bar this week-end. I have been going really light on the aerobics lately (no endurance). I am hoping to get back into it starting tonight. Take care all!
Hi FFB— About getting sick while on the fat fast: Yes, flu-like symptoms are very common when beginning ANY ketogenic diet. I see you have done the fast before, but did you transition directly from a regular carb level diet to the fat fast? Dr. Mauro DiPasquale notes that during the transition phase while your body adjust to a ketogenic diet (which in some cases can take a month – bummer!) many people can experience weird fevers, stomach upset, chills, etc. Probably the reason you felt better after a carb day is simply that your body had not yet adjusted to living in ketosis. Hope you start feeling better soon.
i was thinking of going on FF for like 4 weeks before summer break, but im 18 and i dont know if i should mess with tribex or androsol, but is tribex it ok since it raises T naturally? is t2 ok for me to take? all the other posts i read ppl dont really give a definate answer. should i do some other diet like t dawg rather than FF?
I just hit 3 weeks on the FF as of Monday, but I’m switching over to the T-Dawg Diet now. It’s basically the same but I figure it will allow for better workouts and be easier to stick to. At the end of my FF run I’ve dropped 20lbs and dropped BF 4%.
Started Fat Fast Monday the 9th and have lost 6 pounds and 1.25 inchs of my waist so far with no muscle loss. I live in Arizona and the pollen count here is really high. I was suffering from allergies untill I started this diet. Does anybody know if ketogenic diets help with allergies? I am using the advanced protien with Udo’s choice oil and 100 sprays of androsol 2 times per day. I eat about 1700 to 1800 calories and eat 1 or 2 whole meals per day. My Starting weight was 256 and about 16% body fat. This group has been very helpful in keeping me on this diet. I am actually getting stronger in the gym and feel better than when I started!
Boxcar, if your only 18 I would hold off on taking anything like T2 or Androsol. I’m not a doctor, so I couldn’t really tell you what it would do, but I can speak from experience. My senior year in high school I was 245. I got to college and my coach threatend to move me to tight end if I didn’t put on weight. I started eating right and stepped up my workouts. By the end of the season I was 285. Some fat, but a lot of new muscle mass. I don’t know if this is true for everyone, but obviously my body changed quite a bit between the ages of 18 and 19. Freshman 15? Screw that, freshman 40!! I would see what you can do with diet first. Just my opinion. Good Luck.
Juanstein-It was on my last Fat fast that i got sick sorry if i didn’t make that clear but to answer your question yes i did gradually taper down my carbs as i was on the T-Dawg diet before hand thats why i couldn’t understand why i had gotten sick.Update:- on day 4 now another 2lb lost Yahoo!! I only have to lose 14lbs to get down to 8% bodyfat but i’m striving for 6% to give me some leeway on returning to carb meals as i’m going on holiday three days after the diet ends!Tone and Ironbabe some questions for you I have finally convinced my Mom that low carb diets are not unhealthy or anything like that so she has finally agreed to go on the fat fast i’ll give you her stats:- height 5’2 weight 140 lbs bf%31 she wants to get down to 21 % which if i worked out exactly is 14lbs Are there any recomendations pertaining to training or anything else that would change. She is doing this using real food, flax oil, an antioxidant and one 1000mg vitamin c tablet.As for the mental fogginess I was thinking of using a ginko biolbla supplement any thoughts on this or other questions would be much appreciated.
150 this morning - Wow guys, if this keeps up I won’t be on this very much longer. I can’t believe how that free day helped my metabolism.
What % of her resting metabolic rate is she eating in calories? Is she taking anything to help preserve lean mass? If not, and if her calories are too low, you may be doing her a disservice. You don’t want her to lose any lean mass. Especially if she doesn’t work out, because then she probably doesn’t have much to muscle to begin with. I’d at least put her on some methoxy-7 if she’s doing half her RMR in calories. I don’t go all that low with my calories - I’ve had great results and no muscle loss (maybe half a pound at last caliper measurement).
Ironbabe she is doing 70-75% cals of her RMR and is planning on doing a carb up every 5 days in a carb up I mean three carb meals and she has just began following German Body Comp.

I may be stopping the fat fast soon- I am lower bodyfat than I thought. I’ve gotta rethink everthing. I am 11.4% and I can’t even see my abs. Now I wonder if I have the genetics to see them. ![]()
Ironbabe just a thought but do you use resistance when you work your abs as i think your bf% would be low enough to see them i’m guessing you probably have a flat stomach and in your other post you said you can feel the deep lines but is it possible you need to develope them further in order for them to be obvioulsly visable like in the mirror and to other people on the beach

MMMMM, I’m enjoying a delicious slice of pizza right now. It’s so delectible. I’m getting thirsty. I think I’ll wash it down with a chocolate milkshake. I think I’ll have some chocolate cake for dessert. MMMMMMMMM
