btw, are you thinking about sprinting at all? have you ever been timed in any of the races?

a remarkable marriage of great footage and piss poor commentary

well generally you add .24 seconds for hand timed vs electronic. Just to give you an idea… ben john johnson ran 30 meters in 3.8 when he ran a 9.79. Congrats, you are the fastest man in the world!!!

All joking aside, your speed on all your lifts and vertical are awesome, so im not surprised your sprinting speed is great… Are you still doing any type of plyos or sprinting regularly, or are you just lifting these days?

ive been using oly lifting 3-4 times per week and plyos twice a week for the past month and am seeing great results.

Hell yeah run track Frank!!! Those are damn good times. Given that the qualifying time for indoor NCAA DIV I championships the 60 yard dash (55 meters) is 6.24. With just a little technique training you would definitely be able to approach that. Hell, in my country with your time you would be qualified for the national finals already!!! Haha

I would bet your 40y (36meters) time is between 4.3-4.4!

those times are very strange

30metres is over half of 60 yards yet the time is well under half the time… and the second half of the 60 yards is done with a running start requires no reaction time and no acceleration…

in short 30-60 should be a lot faster than 0-30 not a lot slower

yea its strange,
although i tend to come out of the gates as fast as anything but slow down drastically after 30. The 60 yards (55 meters) was actually done at the only open meet i ran in.

THanks Fred,
6.24… i still have a lot of work to do!
But thanks for the kind words.

I have a question,
when they measure the 30m in bobsled tests is it done off the first movement or the gun?
My was timed from the first movement,
my friend actually had me timed at me 3.5ish in 3 different occasions but it just seems way too fast.

But i read an article on here and it briefly talked about this bobsledding that runs the 30m in 3.5s, squats 500 and jumps 38 or something.

There was some interesting information on the clip. But over all I wish I didn’t spend the time watching it. It was a bore fest.

But thanks for the effort anyway.

Cool video. It’s sad to see people cheat to achieve something. I would feel like I hadn’t really achieved anything.

Frank those are some pretty good numbers. Sounds like you need some work on your stride after you’ve finished accelerating. Your acceleration is awesome though!

Allan wells done a 10.25 without weightlifting, that’s impressive. I wonder if he would have broke 10 if he done some weightlifting?

kim collins doenst do much with weights either, and runs a sub 10.

Don’t know much about bobsledding, except that the guys that do it are generally pretty huge.

BTW, with regards to that guy you are talking about - it was Pavle Jovanovic, and Berardi talked about him in an article to show an example of g-flux in action (the guy trained like a beast and apparently ate like one too)
Unfortunately, Pavle was also busted for steroids, (not one of the listed principles of g-flux :)…

I think hundreds of guys have probably run 10.25 without weightlifting.

There’s a guy from my old school who ran 10.22 at age 17, which I think was about the time he started weight training. Not sure if he’s much faster these days or not. He planned on being the first white guy sub 10 seconds, but I’ve not heard anything about him since he left school.

The only white kid to have run 10.22 in recent memory is Craig Pickering. Is that who you’re talking about? He had a bad year in 2006 but just put up a world-leading 60m time a few weeks ago. He needs to lose weight.

Ever thought of football? Those quick sprints would make you a remarkable competitor.

That’s the one. I googled a bit more and found that 60m time. It’s a bit disappointing that he’s not got any faster at 100m since 2005, especially given his age. Watching him take part in the 100m in the school sports day sticks in my mind as a hilarious mismatch; he won by about 15m metres.
