LOL. It doesn’t matter how fat someone gets AT ALL if they fucking lose the fat for the contest. That was why I made that point in the Lee Priest thread since the fact that he used to bulk heavily was news to so many of you.
It doesnt?
Then why do you shit on everyone who says they dont feel comfortable getting fat, as if their choice to remain comfortable and confident in their own skin is an invalid approach to being a bodybuilder?
Youre a hypocrite. A dogmatic one at that. You CHOSE to get fat because that’s what made you feel comfortable. Some choose to not get fat because that’s their preference. To say that either is right or wrong or better or worse is absurd.
Just to answer this though, I gained extra body fat because I chose to let that slide in favor of gains, the several hours a day I was spending at school studying and my overall work load. Considering it worked, I apparently made the right choice. You don’t see many professionals doing what I do at anywhere near this level because of the time restraints and workload. To make it work for me in my personal life, I ate the way I did.
I knew I had a time limit. I knew I didn’t plan on bulking up much in my 30’s.
To laugh at shit that worked is just retarded.
I didn’t spend the last decade lifting. I spent the last decade lifting, getting educated, pursuing a military career and starting a business. I ate and trained in a way that allowed me to reach ALL goals.
Anyone who sees that as a fail isn’t worth talking to.
Exactly. You made a choice. But you can’t possibly believe that all or even most need to resort to that choice. For the simple reason that most who want to be bodybuilders CANT do all of those things on top of trying to be a bodybuilder.
Did I call you a failure at getting big? Absolutely not. Your method to get big is CLEARLY not the only valid method. You refuse to acknowledge that.

Dude, your an ass. Seriously. You aren’t even that well educated and it shows. Take that shit elsewhere. You keep up like this and it will be handled.
You call people on this forum stupid routinely. So yes, it is possible that there are half wits at your gym.
You may be right, that Im not even that well educated. “Well educated” is a relative term. I, however, know how to construct a logical argument and dont fall prey to the same logical fallacies in every single thread I post in.
There’s more to education than reading medical textbooks.

You keep yelling “strawman” when here you are with Dorothy, The Tin Man and your own ass holish opinion.
You have never NOT EVER…NOT FREAKING EVER seen me write that all or even most people need to eat like I did. You have seen me write that your genetics and results dictate your approach.
Period.
Maybe you should quote that so you stop making these mistakes.
You done yet?

There’s more to gaining big muscles than worrying about how ripped you are year round.
There’s more to LIFE than your training.
My goal was to succeed…at ALL of it.
Most of the people who act like you are recommending…don’t. That is why there are so few professionals making 6 figures outside of bodybuilding in completely unrelated fields.

So you DO acknowledge that getting fat for the sake of getting fat is not conducive for the competitive natural bodybuilder?
Interesting. I think we’ve made a breakthrough. A few pages ago it didnt seem like you would make diametrically opposing statements in the same thread. Weird.

I didn’t just get fat for the sake of it. I already wrote this. Once again, all you have to do is go back and quote what was already written.
I know from past experience that you won’t though because your argument lives and breaths and you trying this hard to twist what was actually written.
Like I said…it shows.
Well, so much for further discussion here lol.
/Thread?
Jesus Christ this is getting ridiculous.
This shit comes down to individual lifestyle choice and ability. Not everyone can get away with the same things physically and psychologically as far as eating habits go. Not everyone can afford to eat the same way based on their lifestyle choices outside of bodybuilding.
Obviously if someone isn’t making any improvements, they are fucking up and need to make changes. But as long as that individual IS improving, why is their way of doing things any worse than someone else’s?
I CANNOT psychologically deal with walking around fat and I’ll be the first to admit that. I cracked 200lbs in middle school… getting hyooge at all costs just doesn’t appeal to me because growing up fat left its mark on me. Do I want to be 215-225 while maintaining my current level of leanness by the time I’m 30? Fuck yeah. But I have the better part of 8 years to put that weight on and I’d rather maintain a more aesthetically appealing look in the meantime. Regardless of how anyone wants to classify my physique- tiny, weak, strong, hyooge- I look bigger and lift heavier weights than I did 8-10 months ago, so I don’t think I’m doing it WRONG.
You can go about improving the physique in a variety of ways- it comes down to finding a way to make gains while maintaining a lifestyle that is satisfying FOR YOU. This should be pretty apparent to anyone who looks at the variety in methods of the guys on here who know their shit and have the physical credentials to back it up.

Bonez has labeled me a “competitive powerlifter”. So it is said, so will it be done.
I don’t even call myself a powerlifter, I just indicated that someday I may wish to compete in a PL meet to make the point that strength is a goal worth striving for even in a bodybuilding context).
My size gains, body reshaping, and recomp experiences are now null and void.
Apparently, it’s one or zero. No in between.
/thread 4 me

This is the BODYBUILDING forum.
But I agree this could be considered a Do-moderately-well-in-a-variety-of-fields-while-looking-buff-with-shirt-on forum instead.

Agreed. The reality is, real bodybuilding up to this point has been about some guy hoping that someone reaches down and gives him something…so he can continue lifting and eating all day. That comes in the form of endorsements if they can get them. I remember reading about how Aaron Baker was so broke he used to sleep in his car when he was getting ready for a show.
I thought that was bad ass when I was in the gym training hard.
I thought it was poorly thought out while at home studying.
This is about end results. Yeah, the guy who is truly FAT who uses bodybuilding as an excuse to stay that way is just as wrong as the guy who won’t eat enough to make optimal gains because he has been scared into thinking gaining 5lbs will cause fat cells to magically appear.
This shit is about balance in your life as a whole…and if the guy training is making big progress, you would have to be a fool to fault him because he didn’t maintain some specific body fat percentage from start to finish.
Then again, we clearly have people with label machines running around putting post-it notes on our foreheads to remind us we only fit into one category at a time.
Apparently, trying to go after more than one goal in life kicks you out the cool kids’ club.

He won’t even answer if he’s huge yet. LOL at people not finding size in itself impressive.
I have pictures in my profile, 195-200 at 5’9".
Whose goal is it get huge if it means being smooth and lumpy? Certainly not mine. My goal is to get as big as I can, lean. If your goal is just to be as big and muscular as you can, leanness be damned, then go for it.
LOL indeed…fact is, take the same person bulked up, and dieted down. Guess which one is MORE impressive!!! (key word: MORE)
it’s the same person lol
