I got a bad headache going for 15th rep today. It’s the first time I can remember getting an exertional headache. It lasted for about an hour and was quite intense to begin with.
Anyone had one while benching , squatting , deadlifting?

It comes w/ facial and neck exertion.
I’ve gotten coital headaches before - I promise - they are EXTREMELY painful. They are like NOTHING I’ve ever felt before. A few hours worth of horrible clapping type of thumping in the back of my skull and serious serious pressure.
Be careful if you are getting these from exercise. It might be an underlying problem to look into. There’s a pill you can take before hand to keep it under control if this is a persistent problem IF it’s not something more serious.
Google it so you can read up on it.
I got these one I first started lifting for real. Terribly painful and they only started when I began warming up for squats.
If I recall correctly, ibuprofen helped me get through workouts. They went away eventually. I might try naproxen now.

Not that I can remember. I have gotten pretty bad headaches after training on occasion if my neck muscles knotted up.
Keep an eye on it. If it occurs regularly, get it checked.
On two occasions I’ve had these, both lasting for around a week and hitting only when I lifted (they lingered for an hour or so, but then went away). This was every session, whenever I strained at all. Both times they went away gradually, and I haven’t had them since; I believe it could be a sleep or stress related issue, because foam rolling etc. on my neck only made it worse.
Maybe try avoiding heavy sets and using bodybuilding methods like high TuT and constant tension training for a week - it should go away in time. Obviously go to a doctor if you’re still concerned though, it could potentially be something more serious so don’t let it go on for weeks. Good luck sorting it out though, headaches can really drag you down if they go on and on.
Load up on water pre workout might help
I tried the water . It seems to improve them. I did a bench workout and rack pulls workout. As long as I don’t have to really grind out a rep(especially on the Bench lying down increases your blood pressure) I am OK.
I did lighter bench presses 60-70% and just breathed normally through the set . I mean I took deep breathes and exhales.
I have been taking paracetamols too.
If the problem persists, try going to a chiro. I had the same thing going for high reps squatting, and it came back every workout. Hell, it even happened when I masturbated. A normal Doctor will probably try to tell you not to lift for an extended period of time. I didn’t believe in chiropractors beforehand, but saw it recommended for this issue on the Internet. It worked immediately, and the headaches have never come back.
Headaches have gone .
I used to get them all the time with deadlift…I started taking xtra strength Tylenol and Advil before the workout…hasn’t happened since
You should really get to the source of the issue here and not just does with and NSID (Do Pain Pills Impair Muscle Growth?).
