Excercise Order

I am currently doing a 3 day split: chest/back, bis/tris, shoulders/legs, rest. I was just wondering if the order of these 3 workout days out of 4 mattered. Obviously keeping the order the same every week, but as long as im consistent with the order does it matter if I do chest/back, arms, shoulders/legs rather than chest/back, shoulders/legs, arms?

Personally I’d put the leg workout last in the rotation (like you currently have it) as that workout will be the most physically/mentally draining of the 3.

By placing it last you give your body a full day afterwards to recover (and 48 hours until your next workout, assuming you workout at approximately the same time each day).

It all depends. Personally I try to put the important things first. For instance, I like doing legs on the first of the week. Two reasons. One, I’m less prone to skip that workout since it’s the first of the week and; Two, If you workout at a club or fitness center most people are doing “Chest/Back” on those days so the squat racks are empty.

All that said, I defenitely recomend you identify what needs the most work/what are you most likely to skip and put that first. I do the same thing within my workout. I used to do chest first then back, which meant back often got shorted. So I put back first and made much better gains.
