Good on you for doing the BSS. I probably should but I hate’em so I don’t.

Nice squatting. I was just asking about the Tates because they’re usually done on flat bench and I didn’t know the point of doing incline.

joe- I hate BSS work afterall they are a form of squats and we all know how I feel!! But I need to keep them in the rotation for a few cycles. Glad however that they are over for this cycle!

Cav- Thanks brother, on the Tates I just figure flat bench, incline bench, flat Tates, incline Tates…how could it hurt? I like to rotate from Tates, to inclines to Oh DB ext…its just me. Not suggesting you or anyone should do it…other more knowledgeable people around these parts to help with exercise selection.

Peace

Thanks Kev…

BP deload - sorta…CGBP paused 225 rep test= 8 ( 1 rep PR) goal for the year was 8 reps so time to move on.

followed that with max rep test touch and go CGBP with 225= 10 ( 2 rep PR)

so than I decided what the hell let’s see how many reps we can BP with BW. So I loaded 180 on the bar and hit 21 reps…Not bad for an old goat!!

a couple sets of whip snatches with 85 and done.

Off to the salt mine,

Peace.

That is great. How much was down to the Dan John stuff do you think?

Brett- Cheers brother! It was a fun day. Just fun to do some tests that weren’t just max singles…The 21 reps are going to kill tomorrow as I can already feel it. But FUN, and I need to have FUN doing this as I am only a recreational lifter. its really why I added chains…it’s fun to try and do different stuff now and again.

As far as the squats, well 25lbs of 40 I went up have come post Dan John high reps ( in the past 2.5 months). I know I can do 300, the progression I used was lousy and I knew I didn’t have enough left after 290…Would I recommend Dan’s program to most people here because of that? No, because I used it to beat out my squats demons. I don’t know if it would translate to the more accomplished squatters that riddle the O35. For me it helped…I have a long way to go but it helped pave a stretch of the “motorway”!! But I would recommend Dan’s MMS program for the challenge.

I am going to change y log to I love Squats Club…Nope…Although, Snap my visit my log if I did!!

Peace

Thats good lifting there OG.

For me I had to learn to love Squats.

for someone who hates squats- you are good at them.

21 reps at bw is impressive- I sure couldnt do it

+40 on the year is a good year. You put in the work, well deserved.
