5/3/1 starts Sunday and the plan is to roll it for 3 cycles and retest max numbers…
and Santa ( me) brought me an early present… I got a set of 5/8 inch chains with 3ft leads for BP and other stuff…why? not sure, just always wanted to try it…if anyone has any suggestions on training with chains I would love to hear from you. did some push-ups last night…holy crap…i have done band resisted push-ups but this is different. it is such a dead weight…each chain is approx 22.5 lbs did a few hammer curls and thought my forearms were going to fall off…these aught to keep my interest up for a while.

screwed around to chain length right for bench…ended up doing 2x4x205+45lbs chain just to get the feel and gauge bar weights that I will bench with on Thursday and yes, I will use chains this cycle of 5/3/1.
OH DB ext 3x7x85
chins 5,5,5,4,4, +22.5 lbs chain
lat puldowns 3x8x120 with a 3 second pause at the chest.
first impression the chains seem to smooth out the power curve…normally I get past the sticking point 3or so inches off my chest and I am good to go. with the chain there is more constant exertion as you get by your normal sticking point there is more weight coming off the floor to make you work…who says an old goat can’t learn new tricks!! …pretty interesting…i need more chain! glad I tried it…and it was free entertainment for about 20 people

MJ- good idea I will check with big boys! And yeah, I used 35lb DBs and they kicked my scrawny ass…meaning I need to do more of them…
Dday- do whips count as gear? whips and chains I think I should trademark that… hey that would be a log title…wait, did I just say that? …
