Excellence Matters

It has been unseasonably warm around here lately. I was in Hingham on Saturday and it was 61 degrees.

Bench and squats are looking awesome. You must get some intersting looks when you pull the chains out of your bag.

Hingham?..I work in freakin’ Hingham…what brings you south…must have been hockey, aye!
As for the chains, yes they do tend to bring on the gawkers…and some questions…and some have asked to try them out… And thanks Steve.

On deload this week which has turned into unload…got a nasty ass cold/bug/alien body invasion going on so I decided to no gym until at least Thursday…havent eaten much, just drinking my ass off(water),and trying to jam some protein and vitamins down the gullet. just no real appetite and you all know what a big eater I am…hahaha

With the temperature changes you’ve had recently, it’s no surprise that bugs get a foothold.

Have you noticed how we seem to catch more of these things when we are on holiday and when we have time off too?

This is why we must NEVER, EVER, EVER take deloads.

wow, by midweek last week I was in full riot gear trying to fend off the alien invasion in my body…than I had to take my son down NJ for tournament this past weekend…lost in the finals in OT…long ride home…

BW 177 dropped 2 lbs that will come back this week.

Nice comeback after the big bug fight. You probably lost a few pounds doing cheering cardio for your son. That’s good cardio my friend. Congrats on the PR.

Thanks JW

OP thanks brother, great to see him play again. He had ankle surgery in August and was just cleared last Thursday for full on sports again. Very happy for him, first time in 3 years he was pain free…now his wind on the other hand!!

Trap Deads

I’ll do my walks and carries tomorrow.

Nice conditioning work OG. It’s always a good training day when you dont feel beat to hell, but you know youve done something.

Nice work on the work OG, great way to start the day.

Good news about your son and glad you’re over the bug. Glad to see you’re still holdin’ down the fort OG.

Brett is right, deloads are the devil.

Thanks guys…

Off to the salt mine,

Chain work is looking super. How do you do the half presses?

JW its a Standing MP from pins that you set at eye height. There is a video over on Tony Gentilcore’s site

I liked it because it starts right where my sticking point is for MP’s and its suppose to be a good Tri exercise…I’ll let you know tomorrow if I can move my arms!

have a great weekend, brother!

Some strong Bench’in go’in on OG. I need to try the chains sometime. They sound great for building lock out strength when you don’t have “two board” help around.

Ditto on tryin the chains someday, nice work.

OP - appreciate that especially from you my fellow sub 200lber!!

LED- you and OP would love chains…I have 10 sessions under my belt and I am amazed about how they kick my ass. You’ll be doing a rep easy peasey and the next rep just kicks you…The progressive load is cool, really makes you work throughout the entire rep. the plan is two more sessions than back to standard bench for a cycle ending with a max test to see where I am at. I will use the chains next cycle for squats to see what that is like…Just having fun! Oh and its a good workout carrying 45lbs of chain in and out of the gym! Have a great weekend.
