Everyone's Long Term Goals?

Everybody has a plan or at least almost any person in this bodybuilding game has an idea or a clue about what to do in the future. If we didn’t have those visions, this game wouldn’t have the passion that characterizes it.

The famous “Rome wasn’t built in a day” is the perfect example for the dedicated physique enthusiast. Patience wins and the word gradual becomes a mental staple of our dictionary.

Ok, straight to the point, I made this thread for all t-members interested on posting their long term goals. We’re talking about 2+ years. I’m sure that, the more posters we have, we’ll be able to have a wide range of good, viable ideas to choose from, and even for incorporating them to our own long term goals.

Mine are:

-Cutting for a period of 6 months till I get the visual results I want. This includes totally visible lower abs, a defined or unlove-handled lower back, and maybe start to get some striations in some parts of my body.

-Enter on a quality mass phase, trying to keep bodyfat as low as I can, if not, what was the cutting for? inmediately “bulking” to 20% bodyfat??? Bring lagging parts, add mass on the right places of all my muscular groups. The time of this phase is undefined because it will be based on the results I have. I’ll be specializing my limbs for sure.

-The third phase, or season, will be strength/hypertrophy. I’ll be adding numbers to all my lifts, entering intensification phases, in few words, preparing my body for future hypertrophy gains.

-The last phase will be adding general mass to my frame. Maximum hypertrophy intended. When I can’t put 10 pounds of muscle in one year, I’ll give it another shot, improving my training, my supplementational and nutritional plans. When I can’t gain 10 pounds in two years, I’ll start AAS for the first time in my life.

I wanna explode my natural gains the most I can. If my gains stagnate, after really doing everything right, I’ll start another journey in my lifting life, expecting more gains. This is for bodybuilding long term.

I hope you guys post your goals, see our similarities and differences, and learn as much as we can from each other.

So let’s get started!

I’m 5 10, 195 at about 8% bodyfat, right now im finishing a cutting phase, then im doing a mini bulk phase, followed by a cut phase again. hoping to end up at 200 pounds around 6% bf.

long term goals as far as lifting goes- these are just random lifting goals 275x6 on BB incline bench, 525 deadlift.

I’m 23 and really I just wanna be able to lift for life and remain relatively injury free.

I am a beginner. 26, 5’11", 197lbs, ~22% bodyfat.

My plan is to continue eating cleanly at a surplus to gain muscle mass for the next year. At that point, I will make a call as to whether I’m in a position to continue into a more major bulk, or if it will be a good time to start a cut. We’ll see how my body reacts to all this.

I’d like to get myself to 10-12% bodyfat, with significant muscle gains. I really can’t wait to take a look at myself in 2 years.

Ultimately, I want to get as large as my genetics will allow, while staying aesthetically balanced. If I have the genetics for it, I will probably attempt some amatuer competitions in the future.

Can’t explain mine really, so I’ll just post a pic.

get bigger. thats really it. id like to weigh 210 ripped for right now, 230 could be nice too but i dont know what either of them look like on me so theyre just guesstimates.

My goals… become as hellaciously strong as possible. I could care less about size just as long as I’m getting stronger and more powerful.

Im 21 6’1" 173 pounds and 8.5% bodyfat

In 2 years from now Id like to be 210 pounds at the same bodyfat or maby a little lower! Im bulking right now with a good split routine and 4500 calories a day! I plan on keeping this bulk going as long as it takes for me to get to 210. Obviously changing programs periodicly to keep the gains going.

Im a natural lifter and hope to stay that whay if possible to reach my goals!

Im fighting ecto genetics so its gona be an uphill battle but one I am willing and looking forward to challenging!

My short term goal is to place, or hopefully win in my first comp.
I am looking to be around 187lbs and 6% BF, which is +10 lbs of muscle and -11 lbs of fat away, and is my aim over the next 12 or so months tops.

Long term i would like to be a comfortable 10% bf and 220-240lbs.
I do not expect to reach my final goal in a mere 2 years however. It has taken approx. 8 years to get to 190lbs at 12% from a set point of approx. 150lbs and 8%.
i would be happy to achieve my final goal in another 8 years! In that condition and at only 36 i’ll be coming back to the UK for my Mr Great Britain title at least…

Hi cougarenegade:

I think your goals are pretty realistic, but the injury free concept is a great issue by itself, more if we’re talking about lift maximizing.

The funny thing is that when you become freakingly strong you won’t be able to have avoided some good size gains.

Oh that’ll be tough, to look like Lou you’ll need really kickass training (Aaaaarghhnold!!!), good nutrition, and… something else.

Oh, I wanna compete too, but in some years from now, meanwhile I’m getting ready.

Get bigger. The last year was my senior year, and the stress managed to knock off a couple of pounds despite all the eating and working out. Now I??m at 175 and ready to grow again.

Yeah, that is pretty frustrating, especially when you don’t find how to manage your time because you don’t really know how it will be occupied.

I’m presently a former D1 Left-Handed pitcher that is transitioning from sport specific training to a WS4SB routine. I am 6’ 210lbs approx 15% bf. I would like to eventually end up at about 230/240 at 10-12%.

Heres some of my long term lifting goals

Overhead Squat - Body Weight 240-250lbs
Front Squat - 200 kilos/ 440 lbs 1RM
Back Squat - 2X BW (480-500lbs) ATG
Deadlift - 500 lbs
Power Clean - 250lbs
1 Arm DB Press - 125 lb DB’s for Reps
Military Press - 200+lbs
Dips - BW + BW (240 lbs weighted dips for reps)

Challenging? Yea. But then I wouldn’t have it any other way:) By the time I actually accomplish these, I will be a BEAST.

I want more brains than muscle and more muscle than fat.

by the way I want my muscles to Rule… Markus Ruhl.

I want to get up to 230-240 with my bodyfat percentage. I mainly want to look the part in my head, ie a bodybuilder. Then I want to start competing and see how it goes from there.

My long term goal:

http://www.schwarzenegger.it/mro/zane.html

My long-term goal is to get stronger and to get leaner. I’m assuming that strength gains will lead to mass gains - mostly because they have thus far.

I also want to bring my legs up to par with my back strength. I don’t really ever want to compete - in two years I’ll be an ‘over 35’ lifter and I’ve got other goals to accomplish.
