Best to avoid confrontation all over never know what kind of consequences can fall out from a fight afterward… I walked away from an asshole last weekend and laughed in his face after he shoved me three times. Needless to say he was all bark and no bite. A lot of these punks ( big or small) are just showmen not fighters… IMO

Fearing someone’s revenge for undefined periods of time is not nice.
Thankfully i see only stupidity at my gym, not so much douchebaggery. However, when i go to watch UFC fights at the bar it is a sea of morons in affliction shirts that have trained jiu jitsu for like 6 months that are eyeing everyone there up and trying to start fights in the parking lot. Ive only been knocked down twice in competitive fights boxing and tkd. the hardest one was from an exhibition bout from a dude 2 weight classes below me…so uh… dont get spin kicked in the face.

I think that it’s because there was such a size difference that he felt the need to square up to you…
It’s like a defence mechanism i guess…
I’m 5 foot (just) and i’ve squared up to many a person bigger than me, although they’ve been rude and threatened me beforehand. I once punched a 6’2, 17stone lad in the face, much to the whole school’s amusement ![]()
I’m most definitly not standing up for him, just giving some perspective as i find it interesting given that i too am on the small side.
Maybe he was just a disgraceful, disrespectful little fuck face. If thats the case it shows how bad the majority of my generation have turned out :(
In reading the OP it appears that you assumed the weight would not be put back as the kid states he needs his drink first.
If you confronted me about my weights (not politely asked) and I had every intention of putting them away - I’d have an attitude as well.
To get respect you have to give it.
Why hasn’t anyone responded to this yet?
This is so true, maybe the kid was just fucking tired and needed a quick break before putting all the weights back.
You pretty much assumed he was not going to put his weights back and are an asshole. I would have reacted in a mean way also. You even said it yourself that you did not say it in a nice way. You are a douche.
WAIT till he leaves and you KNOW he has no intention of putting the weights back then confront him.

I had a dorm mate like that. Very petite height wise and skinnyfat. At first he was nice but started getting increasingly demanding. He would complain about eggs “smelling” in the fridge, boiled eggs with shelves intact and that I should wrap them up to prevent the “smell”. Stupid shit like that. I expressed disbelief as if to show him the error of his reasoning but he kind of kept up with it. Fortunately I was soon able to move out of there and let somebody else suffer the same.
Bigger or smaller than me, I would never provoke further confrontion unless I somehow really lost my nerve and could not help it. Maybe it’s a lack of testosterone in me but if someone was acting like an ass, I would be kind of inclined to get more tender with them, perhaps take their aggression as a sexual invitation and act gay on them. It’s reverse psychology which could confuse the aggressor and make them look stupid. Of course it could also turn out worse but at that point it does not matter.
If I were to get hurt by someone, regardless of size, I would make sure I’m the moral victor still, and thus there would be little shame in that sense. In other words, not provoke shit, for winning is still controversial and losing shameful.
Good post but isnt petite only for girls? that’s confusing

Kids will be kids and A-holes will be A-holes, if you felt he was flexing on you pass it to a trainer let them handle it. Becuase in his eyes you don’t scare him. So if you flex back is it worth the chance of getting boosted from your gym.
Or there is there is the brooklyn way.

Wet sock with a tennis ball inside? So the Brooklyn way is to give someone a bunch of mild welts?

its nice to see big guys giving respect to wrestlers here. all i usually see on these forums is “if you dont weigh over 200 lbs, you aint shit.” as a former wrestler, i would like to think that i have a huge mental, not to mention physical, edge over other guys who weigh 30-40lbs more than me who like to talk shit. im just surprised to hear big dudes talking about how some of us little guys can mess people up.
one of my friends (5’8’', maybe 185lbs) was in downtown SD with his buddy whos a former D1 wrestler and prob walked around at like 140-150ish. these big drunk dudes were looking for a fight and decided to pick on some little guys(my friend and his buddy).
so this former wrestler grabs a hold of one of these guys and suplexes him onto the hood of a car. the rest of the big guys looked at each other with the expression of “well, i guess the fights over.” i just love telling that story cuz its one of those, “dont assume you can beat the shit out of a guy just cuz ur bigger than him” stories.
Skilled men of any size deserve respect. However, I’ll wager all I own that there isn’t a 150lb guy that can whip my ass. Size matters. Period. That’s not a shot at “little guys”. Hell, I don’t even look at anyone in terms of size until they start acting like a jerk off. When someone starts acting like a jerk off, I’ll think, check this little punk motherfucker out…or, check out this chubby gym curling motherfucker. Until then, I see my fellow man as a man - without label.

There are many 150 pound men that would whoop your ass. Your chin can only take so much force it doesn’t matter how big you are.

hahah still could end up getting your azz kicked, but at least it would be funny to read about later. Oh the Brooklyn part was telling him to try it sit back and see what happens. Not my fight.
Fights happen sometimes for whatever reason you may not be able to avoid it. But taking someone lightly just because of there size your experience is a good way to get your ass handed to you.
I’ll fight a 70lb midget like he is a Grizzly bear with a young Mike Tyson Tied to his back… With Young Ali legs.

I’d vote for Mike Brown pictured earlier… Fights at 145lbs.
