I’ve passed out a few times. Usually only lasts a few seconds. It occurs when I’m a retard and think I can train while sleep deprived, or otherwise not 100%
Yesterday I did legs and while I didn’t pass out I fell to the ground at some point during every set after the second set of squats. I fell back onto the safety of the squat rack, I fell forward onto my knees after hack squats, and I walked like a retarded chicken out of the gym and down the stairs (clutching the railing) with people laughing and pointing out that I must have done legs.
closest i came too passing out was maxing the other week on squats, i was on my way back up to pretty much standing up no idea how it happened, was seeing spots afterwards, kinda freaked me out so i backed off squats a bit lately
Haven’t passed out, but definitely have gotten close to (as in lost my footing). Usually this happens after an intense set of dead lifts, or sometimes squats.

I actually passed out one time. It was within a week of BBing contest and I had been dieting down for near 4 months at that point. I was running low carb, dehydrated, and tired.
And then to make that even better, I was doing front squats with a damned heavy amount of weight on there for a set of 15-- I only made it 12. In case some you weren’t aware, front squats naturally seem to choke out some of us bigger guys.

World, I know exactly what you mean. The bar has a way of compressing the air out of your lungs which makes it harder to inhale. I also have a hard time breathing when I go heavy on front squats.
ok i got a story. today was leg day and last week i hit 315 for 8 parallel on squats and i wanted to set a pr. i get under the bar and go down. everything is going good till i get to rep 4 and that is when it started getting really hard. i said fuck it i don’t care how i look or how much i struggle or how red my face gets i’m going to get this bar up for 10 reps.
i managed to get the 10 reps and rack it and it was seriously one of the most excruciatingly painful things i’ve done lifting wise in a while. i felt like i was going to pass out so i just laid down on a bench for a few minutes.
Never passed out but experienced something weird when warming up with DB bench one time. On the completion of the very first rep, it set off a migraine-type headache (which I hadn’t ever experienced before), so I racked the weight and left the gym.
Lost vision in the right eye twice. The first was approximately thirty minutes after leg training, and the vision was lost for six hours. The second time, approximately a week later, was approximately thirty minutes after back training, and the vision was lost for ten hours.
The problem related to incorrect breathing during max squats and max deadlifts. The lightedheadness after the first rep was from blood pressure, which took about three to four seconds to stabilize; and just before and during that “stabilizing period” was blowing out the tips of the blood vessels in both eyeballs (the doc inserted dye in the arm, then after twenty seconds took around a couple dozen pics of both eyes, and there it was). The right eye internal bleeding put a large wad of blood behind the retina, and that blacked out the vision. Very scary when this happens.
Needless to say, and for every movement, I now take a deep breath before every rep, and have a controlled exhale during both the negative and positive portion of every rep.
It was either significantly reduce the poundage and control the breathing, or learn braille.
i have to agree with others here, heavy deads are worst as far as feeling of passing out; but never ever tried to continue to the point that i would pass out.
Must say that the leg press has never pushed me close to passing out.
I’ve buckled over and have actually been pronounced dead multiple times from 20-rep squats or 1-rep max deads. The medics were apparently about ready to call it quits on me, and then each time I would suddenly come back to life. They said it was probably the time-released BCAAs that saved me.
I was going for a new PR on deadlifts, half way, right about knee height i blank out, open my eyes, come back to normal and the bar is at my tighs, all im going to say is that is was some weird shit but it got me a new PR so whatever.
