Elbow Pain at Flexion and Extension

Hi,
Some two weeks ago I got my forearm stuck under some heavy weight, whereafter I felt pain in the elbow. I self-diagnosed it as a hyperextension strain and the first days I applied ice to the elbow. For the first week I used antiinflammatory pills and antiinflammatory gel.

The pain got a lot better the first few days, but since maybe day three it hasn’t improved. Whenever I fully extend my forearm, or when I flex it a bit beyond 90 degrees, I get pain localised entirely to the inner epicondyle of my elbow. Between those extreme positions I feel no pain at all.

Does this sound like something I should go get checked, or do I just have to wait and rest? Could it be something other than a strain? Also, is there some kind of strength training I can do? All big exercises are out since they put pressure on my elbow, and I’m getting sick of hill sprints.
Thanks

Get it checked. Acute injuries can be very serious and until you know exactly what it is you cannot really treat it properly
