DukeTheSlaya's Journey to Overhead Pressing Like a God

How so? 1,5 kg is a lot for a normal male and certainly not considered healthy by most (I know, opionion and even research differes wildly here).

I guess If you are a huge strongman or so 1,5 kg meat is considered normal but otherwise I personally don’t see this as a matter of perspective.

If it’s working, why change it?

I guess sarcasm doesn’t work over the internet

But in all seriousness, I used to eat over 2kgs of meat daily, never had any problems and it worked really great, so 1.5kgs doesn’t really seem like anything radical to me.

Apart from that, if it works and is affordable, why not continue?

(Working includes not getting any health problems from it, I never got any but that may not be the case for everyone)

Now I feel a bit stupid.

There are more downsides to eating massive amounts of meat than immediate health problems. Speaking in a more global sense. I don’t want to be the guy that tries to talk people out of eating meat though.

In no way I am saying that Duke or anyone has to stop eating meat If they don’t want to.

Have to concur here.

I think i probably average 1.5kg / day of meat, and have done for most of my training life. Always brought me good results.

This.

Eat big lift big Dukey :muscle::muscle:

I’ll have to admit that you are right here

But hey, someone must eat all of the meat on sale, otherwise it’ll get thrown away!

A dozen eggs? Man i hate eggs. Il never be able to be veggetarian lol. (Sorry guys who are veggetarian, i just love meat too much)

I am not normal haha!

What type of meat did you eat?

Yeah downisdes like the treatment of animals. Just inhumane how places slaughter them, im sure theres nicer options to killing them then what goes on, ( there just cheap about the killing and dont care)

Meat is awesome! Im actually kind of jealous though, @kleinhound (natty vegan crossfitter :wink:) is lean and a beast and eats no meat. So good results can be produced without it.

Thats the plan :smirk:

Time and dedication my man. Diet doesn’t matter when effort is consistent over years. Obviously within reason of course haha. Probably can’t out train a 100% ben and jerries diet

Chicken and beef mainly, I’ve never been a fan of pork

Todays training
Shoulders /ohp

40×3
×3
×8 Pr. Ohp is finally slowly creeping up
×3 Recorded last set. So have a look at the form and if you see anything that needs fixing besides the chicken feet walkout then be sure to let me know , (i hate being on video so i got nervous and lost focus and ruined the walkout midway through, kinda frustrated at that.)

Im also going to be adding static holds on my last set ( once all reps completed on the last rep just hold in the top position for as long as possible)

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bb4Ir05hzWj/

Incline barbell bench for ohp, press grip.
Havent done this in a while. Shoulders held up ok but will play with form for a bit and starting off light 3×10

Seated machine shoulder press 4×10 20kg per side

Kettlebell rope upright rows for traps and delts
(putting a rope pressdown rope in the kettlebell handle and doing upright rows)
3×10 10kg. These are actually harderthen they seem.

Side plate raises 100 total reps 2.5kg plate

Bent over Rear delt dumbell raise superset with Facepulls 3×12

Some armzz stuff for thicc arms @jfallon9 lol

Weighted decline situps 3×5 5kg
1×10 bw . I must say these are my favourite.

@danteism and reading your log where you said its all about mindset and @MarkKO , thankyou for that, iv realised i do what you said to not do and i do it all the time which is “my workouts gonna suck i had a shitty day and i didnt sleep much or i didnt eat much” now generally i put my mind into a state where it actually affects my workout and i think its from lack of sleep etc when its actually me .

Now obviously if you sleep or dont eat well or shit happens it will affect you a little but if your mind is in it 110% your body will listen too. So today i did have a shitty sleep and didnt eat much.

I ran out of chicken and i have heaps of mince left, so last night i made chilli concarne and put too much chill in. So i didnt eat much of it today at school but now that im home iv been drinking milk with it. Anyway what im saying l is, today i reflected upon myself before lifting and thought “remember what mark and danteism said” , its all mindset. So i went in there and crushed my training session. Thanks as usual guys!

Yep! Time and dedication. When i first started i was like il get so much gainss hell quick (because of stupid bullcrap internet information and youtube) when really muscle takes ages to grow. And All about that ben and jerries bulk life.

I’m glad to hear that! Keep that mindset going and you’ll make progress like never before.

I don’t believe I’ve ever eaten pork sausages - to be honest I’ve eaten sausages of any kind only a couple of times in my life.

But if the macros are good and you enjoy eating them, why the hell not eat them?

Was just looking at some of the weights being used at WAs strongest man and woman tomorrow. The 105kg and over deadlidt medley is trap bar, axle bar, regular bar all the way up to 300kg for reps. Its gonna be awesome.

Its going to be my first time actually seeing big weights being thrown around. At my gym the biggest lift iv seen is bench 100 kg ×10 by some gym bro. No one even deadlifts or does anything interesting. They do leg press and quarter squats, smith quarter squats and shit instead. The biggest deadlift iv seen is someone repping 3 plates but thats stuff all.
