It’s the internet, getting your point across to the other person may be tricky at times.
Good thing is that you understand how fast strength gains cannot come for ever.
The squat dude went from 5x80kg to 132.5kg single in ten weeks, and in two more weeks he was at 160kg single.
Those last two weeks were really crazy. I pushed him hard as hell, and it worked. But if I had pushed him that hard for a longer time, the results wouldn’t have been the same - there’s no way he could’ve added 27.5 kilos every two weeks for several months.
That’s pretty true if we exclude stuff like pull-aparts that are there to prevent injuries.
Some guys can make gains without really working all that hard, but they are the genetic elite (and even they would make better gains working hard).
That’s why I decided to stay away from this until it slows down a bit - there’s no point in yelling at the same time when everyone want to be heard.
Oh man, that’d be nice. But no, I’m just a regular dude who happens to make people stronger
Yes i just meant in general aha[quote=“danteism, post:684, topic:224849”]

They are lucky but also unlucky, it really depends on personal preference i suppose. I like sweating and working hard when i train but each to their own. There only limiting their potential i guess.
One thing I’ve noticed is that the guys who are less gifted usually work harder than the talented guys - maybe that’s just nature’s way of balancing out people.
Usually the people who are on the top of their sport are gifted people who work really hard - and those are hard to come by. Squat dude was one of them, I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw him breaking some records in a few years.
In my opinion, the most gifted people are those who have a good mindset.
I like to think of it like this: I make them stronger, they decide if it is a little bit stronger of a hell of a lot stronger
Felt like lifting today but its official im weak as fuck.
Warnups lots of pull aparts
Bench press
40kg ×10
×10
×8
60kg ×5
×5
Then i went for 70 and couldnt even get it yet 60 was easy. Hmmm
Overhead press
Lots of bar warmups
30 ×5
×5
×5
40
×2 so thats my max.
I was doing dumbell shoulder press with dumbells at my old gym with the 22.5kg dumbells ×5
So thats 45kg and i thought barbell lifts are easier so i should be getting at least 50×5?
Some plate loaded chest press machine.
4×10
My bench press form is actual shit. Overhead press i could feel my shoulders working etc but not really on bench.
Current physique. (Before i started my workout), i shoudl have taken one when i was pumped af but but oh well.
I need more chest , calves, shoulders, triceps, hamstrings . Im happy with how my quads, back, biceps, traps
have developed / are developing nicely.
Actually no scratch that thought i need more gains everywhere.
Let’s say you do that. Then you will plateau for the next 2 months. In the meantime, you will rack up needless damage to your joints due to the additional stress of heavier weights and increased frequency.
The opportunity cost of doing this will be actually building that BASE OF STRENGTH which noobs do not understand, which is:
HYPERTROPHY
Your muscles are moving the weight. There is simply no argument against this. You are also “only as strong as your weakest link”. The amount of strength you can express is dependent on how much muscle you have. People only believe otherwise in Internetland because small people like to cite Olympic lifters who are doing muchmore technical lifts to back it up or that ONE tiny guy lifting ridiculous weights that they saw on youtube. Which is stupid. STOOOOOPID.
Rather than spending time later playing catch up while rehabilitating injuries caused by imbalances because you did not spend time building ALL the required muscles - THAT BASE OF STRENGTH - just do it all from the start because muscle takes a fucking long time to build while I can peak in strength in 3 months if I need to display it for an event.
BODY AWARENESS
This is the part a lot of people do not understand. Your technique will not be the same a year later. It continually change as time goes on because we all have unique leverages as opposed to Olympic lifters you see on TV where most of them have identical leverages since they are handpicked from young with the required body structure being one of the main criteria. Really, go see for yourself. Then go see the variations in squatting styles of the top powerlifters who are not trained by Sheiko.
Which is why it is premature at this time to train to ingrain fixed movement patterns and specialize in a small number of lifts instead of developing more body awareness by training a variety of exercises and also focusing on learning to use your muscles.
I’m not sure if you know about stocks, but this is the best example I can give you. Compare volatile stocks and non-volatile ones which follow and eventually peak on the same trend line in the long run. In the former, people actually make losses because they panic sell and then buy back at higher prices due to the volatility when they would have made more if they had just held them for the long term. This is the same thing. Large gains in the short term are rarely sustainable and there are opportunity costs to deal with. It’s the long term that you should be considering unless you are only in it to make a quick buck.
So are you saying you cant add strength in a short time frame in a safemanner? [quote=“dt79, post:696, topic:224849”]

I never said large gains are sustainable, what i have been saying is make quick strength gains then from there make slow consistent gains.[quote=“dt79, post:696, topic:224849”]

I have a decent mmc already? I can bounce my pecs and engage them in most chest exercises and feel the muscle working, iv been able to bounce my pecs since i saw a movie of the rock doing it and i decided i wanted to. So i practiced my mmc alot and was able to do it.
I can feel my shoulders working in lateral raises, ohp
I can feel my lats in lat pulldowns , most back exercises etc. You act as if im such a god damn noob and cant do anything. If i want to add a certain amount of weight to my bench press there wont be any side effects il just be getting stronger at a faster rate. Thrn after i have done that i will go at a slower steadier pace. AGAIN @danteism client went from an 80 kilo squat to a 160 squat in 12weeks. They doubled there squat. And there doing just fine …
Now THIS is an entirely different goal, and had this been stated from the beginning I would have wholly agreed with you.
5/3/1 will get you as big and strong as fast as you want, but it is sub-max training, so yes, you will not achieve your goals BY lifting heavy weights and feeling like a beast with 5/3/1.
