Drs, Chiros, Therapists in Pittsburgh Area?

I’ve had some nagging elbow and upper back issues lately. Does anyone have any recommendations of good doctors, chiropractors or physical therapists to see in the Pittsburgh area that actually understand lifting, powerlifting, etc? Specifically in the south hills area. Thanks.

The ortho I see is Dr. John Christoforetti. He’s pretty awesome. Specializes in sports medicine. Office is in West Penn Hospital in Bloomfield.

Unfortunately I don’t know any good PTs or chiros but if you find one let me know!

UPMC over in South Side would be the best place for sports PT.

Dr. Brad Klueber is a Chiropactor, and also practices Active Release Therapy. He’s helped me rehab from Rotator Cuff surgery, and also helped my daughter rehab a foot injury from running. Has some body building experience as well. Outstanding guy, and he won’t waste your time. If he can’t help you, he’ll refer you elsewhere. Offices downtown in the Gulf building and on Nicholson Road in Wexford.

Also has lot’s of testimonials from Pgh athletes on his wall.

a chiro performing rehab…zoinks!!!

My chiro and former business partner is Moses Jevicky of Maximum Chiropractic. He is out in Greensburg, but he is a lifter. One of the strongest and most knowledgeable guys I know. He can help you with rehab, release, and even general training questions. Fyi he is about 6’4" 290-300 lbs. and pretty lean. Our gym is behind his office.

Check him out here www.max-chiro.com/

the old office is on the site the new office is at 643 N Main St, Greensburg, PA 15601 along with the gym

I have no competing interests and too long of a story to bother telling but its things like this:

http://max-chiro.com/staff.html

see:
“Nationally certified in physical therapy procedures”

Physical therapy is a PROFESSION, not something to be “certified in” unless of course either of these clowns have a MPT or DPT (no statement on website".
A proper statement would read “Nationally certified in rehabilitative procedures”

You don’t see Osteopaths saying Nationally certified in Chiropractic Care, no they are certified in manual or manipulative therapy or mobilisation.

You don’t see Physical Therapists saying we do chiropractic therapy.

This is why the medical community lacks respect for chiropractors, sucks for the few truly good ones.

Not only that, but I can’t imagine ever, ever, letting a chiro rehab me from a RTC tear. Maybe an average joe where you just follow physician protocol, but higher level trainees and advanced athletes who undergo surgical intervention, rehab just much too complicated and advanced for the majority of their populations knowledge base…zoinks!!!

We say nationally certified in PT because we are required to take a separate national board that certifies us to perform PT. I didn’t name the test, the examining board did. But until it is called something else I’m going to display what it is, a national PT certification.

The medical communities lack of respect for chiros is not because we say we’re qualified to do PT. The issues are far more deep seated and ridiculous on both sides of the table.

Rehab is well within the scope of chiropractors in the United States. Many chiropractors are competent in rehab and pursue further educational credits for this specifically. That’s fine if you don’t think your personal rehab would be handled best by a chiro, but you should probably show a bit of courtesy and not fling mud on an entire profession.

The first part, good to know, although incorrect terminolgy

The second part is pretty obvious, look at the above website, nutritional advice, weight loss products, shirts unbuttoned to their chests for their pictures etc

The third part I am also aware, they flinged that on themselves by not becoming part of the AMA Ive met a few good ones, but the majority I have come in contact with merely abuse people and their wallets, I know way too many people who have gone to a chiropractors weekly for a year +. Common sense would say you aren’t getting better.

So he admits that he neither has formal training nor does he have real-world experience.

Check out this statement he made in a post from last year.

I’ve posted on here before about nagging golfer’s elbow pain and I’ve seen many people also have the same problem. I started going to a chiropractor right next to my gym a couple months ago. I was going for my nagging back pain issues which are all but non-existent now. I have squatted and deadlifted more than I ever have and pain free. But I also mentioned my forearm/elbow issue and he has this laser machine that they’ve used about 3x so far.

I’ve been doing chinups and pullups and curls pain free since those treatments! I have no idea what the laser is called but for the guys who have the same problem you may want to look into something like that. I’ve done a lot of massaging and finger extensions with the rubberbands as well but this treatment was the game changer. [/quote]

yup got it in my clinic
